I know I don't post much but, I wanted to share this story. You know how they say your life can change in a moment, believe it. Roughly 19-20 years ago I was Mopar muscle rich, 67 R/T's and GTX's, numbers matching 68 & 69 BB GTS's, 2 70 Challenger conv.'s R/T & 6 cyl. The cars were by no means pristine but were decent. Then the dam broke, owner sold the business where I worked and where all my cars were stored. Moving into a new house and dealing with an alcoholic wife, who is now an ex. So in all the turmoil the cars were gone.
Now all I have is early A stuff because it's affordable and don't get me wrong I love these cars but they just don't carry that muscle car vibe of a Cuda or Coronet R/T if you know what I mean. Fast forward to last Friday. I'm working in my shed and can see the road when a Diesel Ram rides by stops, backs up and pulls in my driveway. I'm thinking who is this? Turns out it was a friend from 20 years ago. He had gotten my 70 Challenger 6 cyl. conv. and I had traded his son a 68 Dart GT conv. 318 4spd for a 67 Coronet R/T. After initial pleasantries he says do I know anybody who wants to buy 2 convertibles? I said yea me and a deal was stuck. I got the Dart home last Saturday and the Challenger home yesterday. What a crazy week!!!

So now you have two projects! Will be great cars when you get them done. Now the problem is which one do you start on first!!

Awesome to see a 1970 Challenger that still has the side moldings intact. :)

The good lord has smile apon they for all the crap you put up with in the past.

Congrats!

It's refreshing to hear a positive story once in awhile.
Good luck with the projects!

The wheel turns and you were ready to take the opportunity. Good luck on resto.

Thank you for all the kind words.

That's easy, the Challenger is rough and will need lots of parts. The Dart however came with a complete Legendary interior and top, albeit it's for a 67. New quarters and 20 year old floor pans. As luck would have it I was able to take advantage of the AMD moving sale and got new full floor pans and trunk drop off's. The Dart according the white book is one of 26, 68 GT 318, 4 speed convertibles built and the Challenger is one of 91, 70 225, 3 speed convertibles built and it's factory FJ5 sublime. I am still blown away by the timing of all this.

Your story is very similar to mine, I was into B body's big time around 1992 I had a 68 charger R/T a 70 coronet R/T and a 73 Cuda 340 plus a nice 70 coronet 440. Then divorce set in and I sold and traded them off. After healing for several year's from the divorce my love of Mopars kicked back in but the Price's of the cars I had were through the roof and unobtainable for me. That's when I went with good old A body's because I could afford them. Being older now I seriously doubt if I will get a lucky break. Your story has inspired me, I just love it when it comes back around for someone. Congratulations on your great score!

Well that's purdy cool!

Good to hear there still out there..
Congratulations .

Its sad how bad choices in life can haunt you for years, I had a wife who turned out to be a kleptomaniac, cost me a 68 383 Barracuda Formula S, a 1964 Plymouth Fury and my home, glad things are coming back to you!
