Just Got Back Home After My Flight In A WW-II, B-25 Mitchell

I had quite a surprise during my morning, today.
My good friend called me up and asked if i was doing anything, this afternoon.
Asked, if i wanted to for a flight in a B-25.
Of course, i wouldn't be doing anything else.
Who in their right mind would refuse something like that.
My friends dad paid for 6 of us, at $450.00 a pop, to go up in the aircraft.
They are flying out of the old Mather Air Force base this weekend, in the Sacramento, area.
B-17, B-24, B-25, P-40, P-51, aircraft are here.
I flew in the B-17 a few years ago, so the B-25, is now off my "bucket list"
Boy, quite a cramped aircraft in the inside.
And those WW-II aircrew did it on a regular basis, and at freeing high altitudes too.
My hats off to those guys, of that generation.
A VERY noisy aircraft, and you definitely needed to wear ear muffs during the flight.
I will remember from what Folsom Dam, Folsom Lake, looks like from altitude.
Really enjoyed my day.

Yeah, quite cramped. Gotta remember the guys back in the day were a little skinnier and shorter. Of course Jimmy Stuart who flew combat in B17s was the exception. Not a good candidate to be a ball turret gunner. Bet it was a cool experience. Did you ride in the nose?
