Looking at my first picture, is this the hole in the box it goes through? Does the other end just hook over the vent opening in the cowl?

Thanks. Foam seal should show up today. Need a J hook as mine is missing. Could I be lucky enough that a long battery j hook would work?

If you are stuck, a piece of threaded rod will work. Grind the treads off about 2-1/2 inches of the end of the rod, bend it into a hook , run the rod through the heater box with a washer and a nut, and tighten it up.

Cheers!!

No. But I got one if u need one , -----------

The correct part has a predetermined length to prevent overtightening and damaging the case. The hook end does need to be in the little notch in the rim of the collar though. I suppose assembly line workers cracked a few cases. Imagine the consequences of no engineering.

P.S. once I put the box back in, would I attach the hook at the top first and then attach the bottom end in the slot? Thanks. I took mine out 4 years ago, got side tracked by life, and rebuilt/restored it top the bottom in May but forgot where some parts go

Put the bottom bolt in but leave it very loose, out the box up with the door open and reach inside and hook the top, then tighten the bolt.
