Removing Heating Hose from from intake & pump

I am removing the heater hoses as they are no longer needed. Heater does not work anymore. More importantly I need the fitting location on the intake for my temperature gauge sensor. The other fitting location is being used for the new electric fan. I intend to put a blank on the water pump where the heater hose goes.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

You might not get a true temp signal there with esseciently no water flow.

No water flow on the intake where the heater hose connects to the fitting?

You can run a adjustable thermostat to start your fans instead of a sensor. That is how I did it, worked fine. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E52O5DG/?tag=joeychgo-20

Goes on back side of radiator next to fins. Parallel to radiator.

Sorry I thought the fitting in question was on the pump itself
