K Frames - A vs B/E

I have been looking for this answer:
What is the difference between an A and B/E K frames?
Can a B/E K frame be used in an A body? - What happens
 
Basically, they don't fit. Frame rail dimensions are different. 65'
 
B is wider....15/16 " per side. which puts the steering box, and all the components in the wrong spot.

just curious....why would you want to put a B body K in an A body?
 
HemiDenny - Thank you. Not sure I was looking to put an B/E K in a A body. I have an A body /6 (67-72) K I wan to do a Gen III swap with. Schumcker mounts are on back order. I have a new B/E QA1 K and was curious if it would fit - which it sounds will not: So - Sell the QA1? Wait for Schumaker? Trade?
 
Get a 67 A body V-8 k frame, they are not that hard to find. You could also use a 68 and up K, But then you will have to change you idler arm to 68, cause they mount different. 68 idler actually mounts better. You can't interchange the 67, and 68 idlers tho.

imo /6 K-frame is FAR better than a V8 for a G3 Hemi swap in an A-body. It really simplifies the oil filter.
How long did Schumacher say they'd be on backorder?
 
myduster360 - I agree with you on the /6 K! Schumakers are about 6 weeks out, I do have them on order. I actually ordered them 6 weeks ago, called and found out they are still another 6 weeks out.
 
How much for your E-Body K? Pm me if you like.
