I have a running 340 4 barrel engine cast 2-7-72. .030 over. J heads, 4 barrel iron intake. Chrome valve covers, 90 degree oil filter adapter included.
This engine is externally balanced and has the harmonic balancer in place. I can include a forged 273 crank for no additional charge if buyers wish to switch to internal balance. Engine comes with a factory dual point distributor and Holley 600 cfm 4 barrel carb if buyer wants them. Engine was last used in a 1965 Valiant so it has the early A motor mounts and water pump. I am including an Edelbrock LD340 aluminum intake with the sale. I also have a later alternator and mini starter as well as the water pump pulley and fan. $1000 complete. I can deliver up to 200 miles IF paid in full through PayPal prior to delivery. PM for more information.
Engine is in Northern CA, East of Sacramento in Granite Bay, CA.

Those are from a Dakota truck. The RH ones are great because they eliminate 2 bends as compared to the center dump design. These dump above the oil filter and have a clearer path to the underside.

VIN?

Bottom left pic in your first post. It's on the pad just below the block drain plug. Straight down from the casting date.

I'll go look. Being a '72 block, it would have been available in a Demon, A Charger, A 'Cuda or a Road Runner.
Right?

Here is the stamping:

Dont forget Challenger and Dart.

Heads appear to have some port work done.

I forgot about the 72 Challenger Rallye. I don't think the 340 was available in the Dart, only the Demon.
The heads may have been ported, I cannot confirm since the builder passed away in 2012.

Definitely not from a Demon or Duster. Don't think 72 E's were built in St Louis. Being a St Louis built car, has to be a RR or SB/Charger is my guess.
