In the process of Rebuilding a non-A/C heater box for my 65 Barracuda Build.
Issue I'm having is the car was organically an A/C car and the fire walls are different between A/C and Non-A/C.
I tried searching for these answers and got Super Frustrated , as a result here is my post Sorry...

1. Has anybody here dealt with this personally?
2. What was your fix for the fan motor mount / hole?
3. Does anyone sell an adapter plate or easy DIY for swapping heater boxes?
4. If not Has anyone done a write-up or post thread about doing this swap?

Thanks in advance!
Open to any and all suggestion and options, info, comments, name calling, what ever...

A member here made a filler plate to adapt the blower motor hole but I'm almost certain that was 2nd gen' a-body which is probably different. Would be the same deal though. Totally fill the original hole. Cut the new repositioned hole in the filler.

1. I went from non a/c to a/c the non ac motor fits in the same pace but is smaller than the A/c blower.
2. a round filler plate from Metal or ABS would work ok.
3. not that I'm aware of. but if you make a tracing of your A/C hole and the screw hole opening I can also trace a non A/C opening and cut one from 1/4" abs(or thin aluminum) with holes to match.
3a. you have a horizontal bulkhead instead of a vertical one but that won't hurt the placement of the non a/c box.
3b. you will have to make a block-off plate for the A/C holes also.
4. I went the other way on my build and went back using factory stuff ye I had to make a filler plate also but just to hide my rough cuts . Filler plate is not not shown in the pictures.

Yes, many have discussed it. I recall some made templates to cut holes. If buying an aftermarket kit like from Vintage, insure you have the correct firewall since their climate boxes fit the openings.

yea, Looks like I'm going to have to make my own at this point. I'm in the middle of a dash frame swap so shouldn't be too hard. I just finished rebuilding my heater box. So I guess I do that next..

If your going Back from an A/C setup to a Non a/c heater box then you just need to make a filler plate for the smaller blower motor and cover the 2 holes for the a/c lines. It is only when going the other way do you have to make holes.

When I did the non ac to ac swap in my 69 I used aftermarket plastic door edge molding to hide my blower cutout rough edges. Doesn’t look factory, but finished it very nicely.
