The switch doesn't cut power to park, the internal switch in the motor opens cutting power to the motor however the terminal that the blue wire is hooked up to still has power until the key is turned off. There are 2 terminals on the backside of the switch plate one is small and the other is long and is like a spring and has tension holding down on the smaller terminal, If it somehow it got on the other side it may not open leaving power on.
