Friends 70 Dart has an older 340 in it. The motor is a 68 and my buddy decided to replace the radiator with a stock appearing one. The problem is the lower radiator hose connects to the opposite side of the radiator. 70 should connect to passenger side but his current application has the lower water pump hose coming out towards the drivers side. Whats the correct way around this problem and whats the way to fix it but not be correct?

I unioned 2 hoses together. Took some time to find proper hoses (searching parts stores inventories), but worked out very nicely. BTW, I only run electric fans, no mechanical.

He must have a cast iron water pump? 70 and newer had a aluminum WP. Also the timing tab changed sides in 1970.

You can have the inlet for the radiator relocated to the driver's side to match the pump or you can change the pump/timing cover to the later style to match the radiator.

My 69 Dart has a OEM radiator but I'm running a 360 with the post 70's TC,WP set up. I had a radiator shop move the lower Hose neck to the other side.

My friend went to a local radiator shop today. Guy tried to sell him a radiator for $650 dollars after a recor . Friend said he just needs the lower hose location moved to the other side. The guy asked him how much he paid for the radiator and the guy said it must be junk for that amount. I think he got it at Rock Auto, not sure what he paid. Anyways the guy told him it would be between $75 and $150 for the work. I told my buddy to look elsewhere.[/QUOTE]

Good ole time radiator shops are a thing of the past. I have two in my area that I have dealt with for many moons.
