Hood pin install

I just got my Aerocatch pins...still wrangling with the hood adjustment before I drill.

Has anyone used these with an AAR fiberglass hood? Any tips are welcome before I make a mess out of things. :D

I've literally tried to adjust this for hour and hours with tiny incremental movements and I guess the hood might be slightly warped...I'm hoping that the pins can at least hold it in place and that it doesn't fatigue over time.
