Your Social Security number isn’t suspended. Ever.

So, how does one’s SS number get “suspended”? I just couldn’t resist having a little fun with the SS “agent” who called a while back. When it deteriorated into F bombs and towelhead references, I realized that my number was probably going to get suspended too. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked him about my $19mil from his Nigerian bank account?

Next thing you know, I'll get a call from vital statistics claiming my name was suspended, or better yet, my marriage was suspended (lol).

Yeah, I got blasted with a barrage of robo calls telling me there was legal action against my SS number and need to respond to avoid being arrested.” a few weeks ago. They came from at least 7 different caller ID numbers.

Like my wife said to one of them “Ok, I’ll just wait for the police to come pick me up.” and then hung up.

just ask which SSN got suspended......what number? They should know what the number is if they are suspending it.....

Oh, that is the biggest part of the scam. They want you to tell them your SS number and a bunch of other personal info so the can “verify” that you are the person they intended to reach.

Yeah, I was born yesterday and fell off the turnip truck this morning.

Of course your not going to give them your number! You just ask, "what number do you have that is suspended?"
>> "Uh, its your number"
"and what number is that?"
>>"please hold........"
You dont give them ****, they called you...you ask them the questions.

I don’t ask them any questions at all...I just yell “NO!” and hang up before they speak another word.

One of their tricks is to get you to say the word “yes” so they can record it and claim it as affirmation that you agreed to something like switching you phone service to Nigerian Telecom. That’s why when they ask things like “Hi, is this ***?” you should never answer yes.

In fact, I have found recently that if you just keep repeating the word “No” from their first question, they will hang up and not call back again.

I've found that if you don't answer the phone, they cant reach you. Put your 3 trusted contacts that still call your land line on distinctive ring, and then only answer when it rings special (double ring, etc) My phone provider has anonymous call blocking, spoof Caller ID blocking and blacklist. If it doesnt ring 2x, then I know the black list caught it (Call ID transmitted between first and second ring) if it rings twice, its a maybe. IF the call ID says my number, Im not answering. If the call ID says anything I dont recognize, I dont answer it. Actually, I never answer the phone! You wanna talk, call my cell , Email or text me.

I asked one such caller for a return call number. Once I wrote it down I said "Thank you. I'll be calling the FBI now and give them your number. Have a pleasant day." The FBI actually sounded interested since it was some scam involving the IRS.

If it's not on my contact list I don't answer period. If it's necessary to contact me they can leave a number I can call them back. The only ones here that won't give up are the ones who leave a message about wanting to buy my Condo but never leave a callback number.

My friend receives calls every year regarding his time share. Only problem is, he has no time share. He always explains that to the caller, but someone eventually ends up calling him again.

Unless I am absolutely sure of who is calling I will not answer the phone. That is why we have voicemail. And if my mailbox is full....well..**** happens. All of the bill collectors are on my block list, sends them right to voicemail...and well with my mail box almost always being full.....:rofl::rofl:.
I do need to look into an App I was reading about. You can set it up so that anybody in your contact list goes to your voicemail, anybody else goes to a number that just rings.
I had a Black & Tan Coonhound. If you put the phone down by him he would start barking & baying. Was great dealing with the collectors....Asshats...

Got three of those in my voicemail today. Leaving one BS message apparently wasn't enough!
