Turn signal electrical gremlin.

Update...made sure the column was grounded (attached that short grounding wire). Still same problem. However, even with the turn signal switch in the "off" position I can actually hear the flasher working but don't see it register on the ammeter.

Look on the switch knob and it will have a arrow to show you which way they turn on. Mopar did it both ways.
