sweat!?

As you age you lose efficiency with body temperature regulation. It’s a lot of different things though. Thyroid function, the ability of the blood vessels and capillaries to dilate and constrict even lung function (because you breathe out warm air) all play a part. Losing elasticity in your vessels is a big part of it.

And yes, medications absolutely play a part in that, some more than others. Blood pressure medications can have a big effect though, because again those are in part controlling how your vessels dilate or how fast your heart can go to compensate, depending on the med. All of them play a part in general, but some blood pressure medications have a larger effect on heat tolerance than others. If your blood vessels are already dilated, and then you go out into the heat, your body has one less option for heat control.

If it’s bothering you, it’s worth talking to your doctor. Your meds may be at least partly to blame and that could be an easy fix.
When I was put on blood pressure meds, ended up on Losaritin (sp?) I was told to take it in the morning....and drink plenty of fluids thru out the day as it is a diuretic. I do know I started sweating more when I started taking it...but we lived in the desert and seat is just a way of life....
