Finally got my new Dougs headers installed. Changed oil and a few other minor things .
Hit a deer at low speed on my way home from a cruise. First time driving it this year.

Took out my grill, rad, core support. I guess it could have been worse.

Be carefull out there guys!

Damn wildlife! Good thing you're okay and it didn't go in to the windshield. This isn't the fist thread I've read about someone hitting a deer. Worst thing I've hit was a coyote. Had to clean hair and, uhh, coyote parts out of the engine bay and under carriage.

Well......just DAMMIT. Put you a wanted ad in the classified section. Maybe somebody will pop up with what you need. It's not too bad. You'll get it back right.

They have been horrible around here lately, I almost hit 3 last night, on the way to town today my wife dodged one in broad daylight. They sneak in and eat on our flowers and bushes at night, if I go out before daylight they run out of the yard alot.

69 valiant grille's are really hard to come by around my parts now days. If worst comes to worst you could put in one of the new sharkstooth grilles or a regular duster grille.

Core support does not look bad from what I see?

A black bear crossed the road ahead of me on my way home today, looked like a well feed 3 year old.

Yeah a shark tooth is my plan if I can't find one. But I really love the 69 grille

Yep, like we need more bears too, someone hit a black bear 4 miles from my house last year, sherrif said he thought it was a black calf in the road and went to move it and realized it was a bear. I think it was the one that was getting in our garbage around here because no one has sighted it since.

Not much consolation, but I have seen much, much worse. It always amazes me how much damage a deer can do.

Well did u eat Him ? Its the least he can do for your cost .
We got Wild Boar, Goats, Sheep and Cows on the roads here.
Fair game if you hit them ! Even Deer on some of the other Islands !

Pony clamps & a chunk of 2x4 can work wonders for helping straighten a core support.

Been there, done that.

Finished it up with a hammer & dolly & good as new.

I've seen more deer this spring that I ever see during the rut in the fall. It's strange!

Be careful out there!

Those a PA deer (shepard size). Better slow down as you come through Ohio. JK :elmer:

I hit two deer with my '66 Polara, killed them both. First one popped out from behind a hedgerow at about 25mph, the second one I saw and slowed down to around 45 before it wiped out the best grille I had for the car, just put it in a month or two before. Those things can cover some ground fast! Hope you find your grille.

The last couple of years we have had pretty mild winters, so the deer have plenty to eat.
There are alot of them, nothing to see a few of them walking down main street in town.
The next town over, allows deer hunting with a bow in city limits, just to get rid of the pests.

There are also plenty of bear wondering around town also, they normally just run the other way, stupid deer have no fear, I think alot of people think it is fun to feed them, then they complain about them crapping in their yard, or eating their flowers and gardens.

I have a co-worker that showed me a picture of a bear standing up by his game feeder, he lives on the out-skirts of the town, right where it turns into countryside, by his measurements in comparison to the game feeder the bear was around 9' tall standing on it hind legs.
He moved the game feeder further away from his house, when the bear came down thru his back yard one morning, when he was walking out to the truck to get to work, he did not make it to the truck, but one of his other cars the door was un-locked and he managed to get into it.
It shook him up pretty bad, he told me that I am over 60 years old, and have never been scared like that, and he is a pretty big guy

Thats why they make a 44 mag.
Unless you have a good kill shot, you are just going to make the bear mad, my guess is he smelled the food in his lunch box, when he was walking out to the truck.
It is truly amazing how far away animals can smell food.
