Members. I do have a question which I would appreciate your expertise. I am building, on the Members Restorations, a 1965 Dart GT Charger Clone. The thread is called 65 Dart Revisited II. I built my engine using a solid lifter, somewhat stiffer than the original HiPo, cam. The cam was provided by Racer Brown (Jim was my contact). I had my heads built by a local machine shop who builds for various race car entities, and the heads will be using a stiffer spring to accommodate the stiffer cam (Z-Machine). The block was bored 0.030 over, and I am using the 273 HiPo after market Half-Hemi 2-Valve relief pistons. My ignition will be EI provided by Classic, and it states "Mopar" on the module. I was wondering if anyone can advise me on the appropriate coil and the proper spark plugs which I should be using on this engine build. I do appreciate the ongoing help which FABO members have given me throughout this three year project. Thank you to all who helped me, and for the advise provided and to-be provided. sgrip65

I read that a Champion RN12YC would be the plug to use....any opinions? Thank you. sgrip65

It depends on the compression. The aftermarket HP pistons will get you about 9.5:1. Use 12's. The factory plugs were n9y's. the 2 barrel engines had n14y's. The 12's are right in the middle. Go with the 12's.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the input. I was concerned about choosing the correct plug. So, go with the Champion 12s. Appreciate the input. sgrip65

The only suggestion I have is rather than the N series Champion I'd use the C series. They are the exact same plug except the N uses a 13/16 hex and the C uses a 5/8 hex. The 5/8 hex just gives you more room for the socket. Just a nicer plug.

Great tip!
