You can take more than that out. That's too damn loose. I'd do .020/.024 and then check them hot. Take the hot measurement and subtract the cold measurement. That's the amount you cold lash so the hot lash is .020/.024 as there is no reason to lash them that loose. It just makes noise and beats the piss out of stuff.

Luckily, those lobes have a pretty slow lash ramp so you can close the lash down quite a bit before you have issues.

So.....The engineers call for .028 intake and .032 exhaust, guys that are engineers but since some random guy on the internet says something different, I'm supposed to trust him?
I've ran this lash for 4 years. A few months back I decided to check the lash. Guess what? It was real close to spec, I'm talking not even .002 different from where I set it the first time.
I have set mine cold every time with .006 LESS lash since the aluminum heads expansion rate is different than cast iron.
