Air grabber and ram charger oval air cleaner information needed

I run a oval air cleaner on my car like the ones used on the single 4bbl car's, these have to use a wing nut or bolt to hold the base and then the filter and 2 wing nuts on the lid. My question is what did Chrysler use on these from the factory, all the cars I've had were already several years old and some had wing nuts and some bolts, it seems like a dangerous set up to me as if the wing nut came loose it would get sucked down the carberator. I welded the wing nut on mine so this couldn't happen, and now just screw the stud and all in as it makes it too large to come loose and get sucked down. Do any of y'all know what was originally used?
