Lots of people post when they lose a pet, and today it’s my turn. Buster was part of our lives for 11 short years. He was the funniest little fellow around. He was always doing something goofy to make us laugh, and he was the most faithful little guy to my wife and I....well, mostly her, but that’s the way it oughta be! Buster was a Shi Tzu. He burst into our lives in early June of 2008. My wife and her sister went to a local flea market, and a guy had 2 little dogs there. Buster saw my wife, and ran up to her knocking his brother out of the way as if to say “ That’s MY new Mama, and you get away from her!” It was love at first sight for both of them, and he came home with her. I’ll fast forward thru 11 amazing years with that kind hearted, loving little boy that didn’t have a mean bone in his body. He went pretty much everywhere we did throughout his life, and added immeasurable joy to our lives. I called him my little navigator on trips. He would always lay on the armrest in my Dodge 2500, and watch where we were going. I’m gonna miss him laying his little chin on my arm as I rested my arm on the armrest beside him, with my hand on the gear stick. The little guy was never sick a day in his life, and got kind of down in the dumps on our last trip to our beach place a few weeks ago. We took him to the vet, and they did some blood work. Our vet was concerned that he had something serious wrong in his gastrointestinal tract, and wanted to send him for an ultrasound. We took him for that last Thursday, and found out he had an advanced case of stomach cancer. He hadn’t eaten in 2 days and the vet said his stomach was full because the cancer was blocking the exit from his stomach to his intestines. He couldn’t hold anything else in his stomach, and that’s why he wouldn’t eat. We knew what we had to do, but dreaded doing it. The decision as to how soon got taken out of our hands that very night, as he started having terrible acid reflux and it was choking him. We had already made an appointment with our vet to let him go, but had to take him to the animal emergency hospital to end his suffering. We are just heart broken, but we’ve been through it before and will have to again in the future. Our little boy Buster is waiting for us at The Rainbow Bridge, and we will see him again someday. R.I.P Buster West.....Mom and Dad love you.

Sorry for your loss, as a dog lover myself and having been through this more times than I care to have been I can certainly understand.

You will be blessed again I'm sure.

Buster has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. May he RIP.

Sorry for your loss. Take solace in knowing you provided him with the best life he could have. You can see that in his behavior and it seems he was a very happy little guy.
My teenage daughter got a Shih Tzu a few years ago against my wishes and I gotta tell you, Bosco has been a blessing in all of our lives. Such a fun little guy.
Again, sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss, I know nothing can take his place. He was an individual. I have had more than a few dogs in my advanced life, they all had their own personalities, that all gave me the love I needed, and me for them.
I had a Rot year ago, a great loving dog she lived at the barn, the horses were hr children. She watched them like children and a mother. She had reached the age of 10, elderly for a lage dog, she had stopped eating, took her to the vet, he x rayed, ran tests, said she lilely had cancer, She died the following day.
Our relation with our dog pets I feel is always lop sided. Seem they always give us humans more love, more good memories, just plain more, than ever possible for us to give to them?
Someone said once, A man that never knows the love of a good dog... there is a small piece of is soul he never finds.

There’s no way to ease a heartache like a great pup, and no way to ease that heartache when it’s your turn to say goodbye to that great pup. Sorry to hear about this, they’re family through and through, and I know he’ll always be on the armrest of your life, keeping you in the straight road!! Peace brother, hey prayers are with you and your family!

Sorry for your loss. If you've never owned a dog, you can't possibly understand the hurt when they go.

You also can't understand what they bring to your family either.

So very sorry for your loss. RIP buster. They are family.
So many great days they provide then a very bad one.
God bless.

We all think of the sad times of our lives and usually there are pets remembered during those thoughts. I am very sorry for your loss but with that said its something that we all accept when we bring the fur balls or feathers home...all are remembred fondly in our hearts.

Oh no! I'm sorry for your loss! That is a horrible time. I have 3 dogs and they are like my kids so I basically have 6 kids lol. A couple years ago my childhood dog Buddy passed away I got him when he was a puppy at the rescue shelter when I was 16. He was 16 when he passed away. I had him half my life it was so hard I swore I would never get another dog. But for my kids sake I gave in and got the kids a new puppy and then another now we just rescued another Haha and the one we just rescued back in may appears to be pregnant so we are about to have a bunch more!
But Marshall has really been a blessing he is such a sweet loving dog he really is my new best "Buddy" ! Rocky and Lucy are my babies too cant leave them out. I'm so sorry for your loss. If you think in the near future you want another dog PM me Lucy should be having puppies any day now. You are not too far away we can work something out.

Sorry to hear about Buster. Shi Tzus are the best little dogs. We have 5 which I guess qualify as a herd.

Thank you all for the kind words. It means a lot to me and my wife. Buster loved to ride, and I feel kind of guilty for not getting the 4 door Dakota I bought my wife ready soon enough for him to ride in it. We’re having him cremated, and we’re getting his ashes distributed into 2 little urns. One for home, and one for the beach. Our beach place is a camper set up permanently in a campground in Myrtle Beach. There is a favorite place he loved to go for a walk, and pee on all the posts that have the campsite numbers on them. He had a route like a mailman, and never strayed from it. We’re going to take a tiny pinch of his ashes, and drop them at every post. Kind of like he staked a final claim...lol. I will check back in later when I can get on my computer. I don’t want to fat finger a like or agree, etc on my cell phone. Thanks again for your kind words. They have certainly brightened a sad day.

Sorry about your loss. They are more than animals, they are part of our families. Its sad to see them go, but you will see them again. A joyous reunion awaits you. Buster isnt in any pain, and is enjoying his time waiting for you again.

Sucks for the dog.
Could have been worse though..
I know a gal who was moving her van and her little chewawa dog jumped out the window and ducked under the van...the van in motion...she and her neighbor heard a pop! the dogs head was flattened under the tire and its contents blew out everywhere. Needless to say she is has a therapist now.

Sorry for your loss

Always sucks to lose a family member. He will wait for you at the bridge.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
