That is awesome! Nice fathers day gift!! Can it be ran with or without gas? Can you use fluxcore wire in it? I have the cheapo harbor freight fluxcore welder. It works pretty good I'm still learning how to use it my welding skills are hit and miss! I can lay an absolutely beautiful bead one minute practicing then go to weld the piece I'm working on and be complete garbage. I think a lot of it is material types.

Yes, with or without gas and flux core. I haven't welded anything in over 30 years... some learning days ahead!

Thanks, You are gonna like that welder. I've had my Lincoln for 30+ years. They sure come in handy !

convert it to gas when you get tired of messing with the flux core wire.. Northern tool has tank exchange. I think true value does also.

I had a similar issue. The drive roller needs to be for the proper wire, flux core uses a different roller. Also the groove needs to line up with the wire. On my welder if i tighten the retainer,it goes out of line. So i leave nut loose.

Planning on getting gas, 023 tips and wire asap.

That is a pretty good formula for success. I am really liking my Hobart 190. Probably could have gotten by with the 140 but you never know what you might get into and I found a good sale on the 190 with the aluminum spool gun.

"That's not a knife!!"

All I got was this pocket knife:

Not really. I just think thats funny.
Had a great day. Me and the boy in the shop..........

Hey, great score! Going to be good to see you getting some sheet metal replaced in that ride. I recommend a combination of flux core and CO2/Argon blend gas for producing the best quality welds. Works really well when you have to trigger to prevent burn through and when interrupt/stitch welding large panel work.

Flux core AND gas, you say? Hmmmm. I'll have to try that. Good tip!
