My 74 Dart (The Bondo Bucket)

-
Nice work! Bag tag and label everything!! And lots and lots of reference pictures! Ask me how I know to give this advice lol

Be happy I'm not even to that point. Got to finish my house before I can play.

Moving in the right direction. Picked up a set of Schumacher mounts to swap out the slant for the magnum. Thanks Terry! Got the passenger fender pulled off the other night. Ordered a set of cheap headers tonight and about to place and order with Summit for my oil pan and couple odds and ends. Nothing to crazy but wanted to update the tread.

Great story! Incredible that thru all the buyers/sellers that you got it back.
Good for you and your family.
Let me know your wish list and I'll see what I have and can come up with for you?
Thanks again for the goodies!

Thank you I appreciate it. It is a crazy story for sure. I never should have sold it begin with. I will post more as I tear into the project more and I’ll let u know what kind of stuff I may be looking for. Now if I could just get my big block 72 Demon I sold back ...

The story wouldnt be as interesting if you hadn't sold it.(no offense)
I may have a sb oil pan for you?

You got young boys there I'm glad to see you're putting the Magnum in there and getting rid of the old boat anchor...

Yeah those little guys are 19 and 14 now lol. Have an 11 month old helper added to the crew now also! I picked up a 5.2 Durango from a friend for basically free so the magnum swap made sense for me. Would have liked a 5.9 but price was right and I was able to drive it home so I know it runs good

8 1/4, 904, magnum... 150shot... Some skinnies and slicks... Little.car trailer...

:thumbsup::D:rolleyes:...

Got a little bit of work done on the 5.2 today. Did some tear down on it while my little one was sleeping. Got the exhaust manifold, timing cover and chain , oil pan and pickup, right side cylinder head and lifters pulled out. Beautiful weather today (except for the pollen) Felt good to get some progress on the nasty engine that’s been patiently waiting in the corner of the garage.

Great story. One that many of us can relate with.
I got my 76 dart sport back after almost 30 years. It basically sat where i left it. I gave it to a guy that had a duster and was planning a project that never happened. I asked about it and he gave it back.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Engine teardown is fun! Hope there are no surprises.
Keep at it!
Thanks I’m hoping for the best as well. Fortunately I was able to drive the Durango before I pulled the engine. So far it’s been really clean inside. Crosshatching still on cyl walls. Going to need a camshaft looks like though. I see some wear on couple lobes.

Snuck out of the garage yesterday. Getting ready to pull the engine and trans out this week!
