I hear you regarding preserving the 340/727. I don't plan to put a lot of miles on it.
I found a picture if my polara 880. taken the day I hauled it in. it has a twisted torsion bar which took it off the road. kinda gives it a sinister look. I got a complete firm feel kit.
I agree with you that if you're nor going to drive it a lot, leave it alone. It's probably worth more un-restored anyway with how good of shape it looks to be in.

I loved my '67.. you couldn't tell if you were going 35 or 110 :)
The '76 NY I had though was an absolute pig. Could not get anything out of that slug. Was comfy though.
