So right now I'm hood ritch. I got cars stacked up that want to come into the shop.

My family said building cars was a loosing proposition. Well who's winning now?

That's right, I may just pull this off and make money.

Not bad for a guy who never got out of high school....

This is me giving a big middle finger to everyone who said I would fail.

I wish my grandpa could see me now.

Even if i do fail, I did my best and I made a hell of a show out of it!

And you won't be wondering in the future 'what if' you had done it. Oldest brother always wanted to have a parts store, find out that he couldn't compete with the big box shops. He asked me one time about failing, and I told him the same thing I'm telling you, 'what if'. and on top of that I mentioned that he didn't lose his house so it's still a win. IF, and I mean a big IF it should fail, hopefully you wont lose too much. But it doesn't sound like thats gonna happen with you.

You got to good of skills to fail , looks to me like !

Congratulations buddy. I'm glad the business is going so well. Iv always said you can do anything you put your mind to and apply yourself it's all about work ethic and learning a skill and applying it! You have that my friend!!

The only thing worse than trying and failing ,Is to never even try!

Or as I have always said, do something! even if it is wrong!!

I couldnt agree more!! I think it was Michael Jordan that said you miss 100 percent of the shots you dont take!!

Always room for more tools.
I upgraded my welder, sold my old one.
If you have nothing but happy customers than you are doing everything right. Word of mouth goes a long way.
I would much rather be building than fixing. My 5 year plan is to basically close the doors to oil changes and current models, and concentrate on the older stuff.

so, are you asking advice on welders, or just flexing the digits?

i always hated that saying because it's simply not true
a shot you dont take is a round in the chamber for when the dam breaks

Americans have an attitude that if you fail, you must be the dirt under a snails ***.
Our culture has a very strong influence on our failures, and mostly, on our attitude toward these failures.
I personally feel the opposite is true.
Vince Lombardi once said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.”
I think that applies to business as well. If the business does fail, and you're willing to step back and be completely honest with yourself as to why it failed, you've learned something. Now you know what not to do. Unfortunately with us Americans, it's that stepping back and being completely honest in our assessment and finding fault within ourselves that's a real problem.
Don't worry about what others are telling you, learn to fail or fail to learn.
I congratulate you on your business, and I hope you need to buy even more welders and need people to use them!
Good Luck!

You don't have to do everything perfectly, just do 1 thing well. I know what you mean, I wish my Dad could see what I've made of his business. Sometimes have 1 sided conversations with him.

Thanks guys.

The scary part is I cant bring business in.
The same with my hing end carpentry jobs they just come in when they come in.

We all know people say they want work done and having all these jobs lined up feels great but will they ever show up?

I don't know. That's the scary part.

If I bring on a new welder what happens if i have no jobs. Him and his family are screwed. What happens when I cant take on a job because I'm welding, turning down a job means they go elsewhere.

It's the razors edge, fall off one side or fail on the other, no matter what someone gets hurt.

That's what keeps me up at night.
