How a small rust repair turns into a full blown resto

Interesting journey, good time with your boy that he will never forget and a great looking car too. Count your blessings cause that aint all of them.

Very nice. How did you clean the paint off the bottom of the trunk so well?

There was a lot of what looked like spray adhesive on top of the paint and a bunch of surface rust. I assume the adhesive was over spray from the the insulation on the bottom of the package trey. Any where that had surface rust got the wire wheel and a rust inhibitor before sealer went on

Beautiful car and story. Happy your son was old enough to be involved. He certainly will remember that forever.

Great story & great documentation, it's also great father/son time also.

Nice job, it looks like you son had a fun time helping.
You better never sell that car and give it to the kid.
I gave my duster to my boy the day I bought it 10 years ago, he helped alot along the way.

This car is as good as his when he turns 16, he has spent lots of hours in the shop with me restoring it and is well aware of its significance to our family

Since my last post I have finally gotten around to throwing on the tail panel stripes and the “Plymouth” trunk trim. And taken her out to a couple car shows.

I also dug up a few pictures of the shift linkage I built to tighten up the shifts, this simple project made such a huge difference in how this car shifts I recommend it to anyone runn8ng factory rods
