67 twin turbo dart

-
Headers showed up today just had time to open drool a bit them keep them in the box for now, packing up the trailer for the move was main point today, maybe next Saturday I'll get to put them on. But did get to level the engine today so that all done and tightened down.

Had the windshield installed today, brain fart on my side (first A body) didnt order new locking strip thought the trim was it lol so that's on order and once in will have the guy come back out and finish the install. I know need to clean the glass.

Got the trim put on, the lock strip I ordered was a plastic crap, good thing Mad dart had the clips that screw into the sides, so we took the glass back out, installed the trim lock tabs, Ray put in a locking rubber and then we installed the stainless trim pieces. Finished the coil wiring yesterday, now just running the wire for the alternator power for the chassis wiring fuse box, and will use that to the reducer for the cam position sensor so that will get power right off the alt.

Cant install the turbo headers due to the arp bolts have been packed, I thought I kept them out guess not, something to do up in Idaho. Leave this Thursday for the first trip up with stuff.

Seems like that is where a lot of us from Cali are transplanting to these days. Cant say I blame ya !!

Boy, Mad Dart is a work Animal !!!! Really gets things done ! Don't He???
Love his work !! :)

Well put the headers on, need to order some 6 pt bolts for a few holes, but looks like I need to remove the front part of the inner fenders to clear the turbos. And need to buy a few spark plug wire protectors and clamp on heat shield for the area close to the master.

Thank you, oh me too. Always something more to do, the cutting will happen after the move. Exhaust should be really fun to make.

Well me and the dart made it safely up to Idaho. I get to unload it into my dad big garage so I can actually open the doors all the way lol and walk around it easier lol.

Had a little bit of time between helping my parents and this morning had some pre work stuff to get done before I start my new job here in Idaho. So yeah I'll cut out the front part of the inner fenders, rotate the turbos a bit and should make room for the feed IC piping to go under the inlet side and up to the TB, wastegates might turn outward and have the tubing go out the front inner fender and dump straight down, will wrap both those and the downpipes but leave the headers unwrapped. A little over my head, exhaust will be interesting to fab. Will figure it out and get something to work. Want to get this all done before I fire it up, that way just take it off, fire, run a few time for a few days drain the oil and put the turbos back on but all that fab will be done, hopefully, see how the game plan works out. Any thought or ideas, I welcome input, also forgot to mention I ordered my 3.5" chromemoly driveshaft from strange.

Been a crazy week drove my wife and youngest back down to cali yesterday and flew back up today, haven't had a chance since last time to work on the dart but I will. Something did show up today though, my driveshaft so that was awesome to open.

Finally was able to work on the dart today, Saturdays have been crazy with helping my parents with yard work and surprising just to hot to go out to the shop to work lol. But got the crank position sensor wired, throttle cable almost done need to space the holder up a bit, drive shaft loop installed had to modify the trans mount a bit to allow the hoop to mount flush. Installed the driveshaft, came out perfect, first time measuring for one. Next will plumb the rear brake lines, cut out the front inner fenders and a few more wiring, like starter and more plumbing, oil feed but need to know where the turbos are finally going to be to route it safe.

Sorry haven't updated. Rear brake lines are done, just need to bleed them all. Starter is bolted on, my dad air compressor went out so have to get another generator for it, almost have the steering wheel adapter done and opened for the column. Next will be remove the headers and turbo, and cut out the inner fender wells for both room and exhaust routing. Will start to order those pieces here soon, will fab it myself, a local shop here wants $85 per hour (I thought California shop prices were bad) and said upwards of 10gs for a exhaust. No thanks. Will get some pictures posted, forgot to take any.

Yeah they were. Ordered the wrong generator for my dads air compressor, so we are going to see if we can put a new protector switch in the old one, or keep the new generator and have to get new pullies since his old on is a serpentine belt type and the newer compressors use v belts. But will get things ready to cut the inner fenders off and move the water box to the other side. Might use the electric cutter not sure yet, like the air tools better, more control. Will get some pics up of the rear brake line. And possibly redo the one side brake line for clearance. Hoping to clear 3.5" down pipes.

Here some pictures from the rear brake line plumbing. Got the new fitting on the new intercoolers. Also got the mid plate bolts drilled and mounted. Ordered the dynomax bullets for the exhaust system. Was getting the shifter cable mounted and in and it broke, so checking with lokar to see if they have a cable that will work for a 727 and the quick silver shifter in the car, so we shall see.

Got some work done today, drilled and tapped for the trans temp sensor, got the oil feed from the block to the filter, and started the cooler to block line. Shifter cable broke so had to order another one, and since I can really get a angle to clearance the trans dipstick i just removed this one and ordered another.
