One of my bosses had a DA dog that liked rocks too. One time, actually a couple of times in the same summer, when X-rayed, his stomach was completely filled with gravel from the parking lotta. I guess it got a lil expensive, cuz he wore a muzzle after that, for the rest of the summer.

This is not the first time I have heard of this. There is something in the dirt in our area that damn near every dog I have seen must find edible as they all pick up mouthfuls of dirt, sift thru it and sometimes spit it out, others swallow it. Neighbor said it is some sort of bug...who knows...

I just went thru the same thing with my aussie Rocky. He is an inside dog he only goes outside on a lease under supervisor. And some how he ate something that made his sick as a..... well dog! Lol
He was fine one day and the next he just stopped eating and drinking and laying around, which was a huge alarm because he is always hyper. That was followed by explosive nasty diarrhea and vomiting. I took him to the vet first thing the next morning. He had ate something and it gave him an infection in his gut. They gave him a shot and some antibiotics and he is fine now. It took about 3 days for him to be completely better.
Glad that he fully recovered.

Azul is doing much better. Tomorrow she will be returning to her regular food. She will thankfully be done with all of her pills by Thursday. Her eyes have cleared up, she is back to having that real loving look in them. She is dying to go out and run...and dig but the vet said to wait 2 weeks so she is confined to the pen behind the house and gets put on a leash when she is out front. Needless to say when Ernie was walking with her yesterday she picked up a rock......:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:
