Calling all 60-2 Valiant and Lancer owners, info needed

-
Here in Australia the first Valiants have always been highly regarded for their looks and style - just as it should be for a Virgil Exner creation!!
This is our 1962 S, 225 with three on the tree. One of the shots is with the car parked outside the old Chrysler plant where it was assembled here in Adelaide. Have recently replaced radiator, brakes, locks and exhaust manifold - now running pretty nicely.

Cal, I see the heater delete plate, what do the decal say? And what are the heater hoses for if you don't have a heater? Car looks great by the way!

Still has a heater but an early aftermarket one under the dash. Factory heaters were pretty well non existent back in the day here in Australia so the aftermarket often had to provide some of these types of niceties! The heater assembly has a single speed fan, is shaped like a beehive and is mounted up under the dash above the trans tunnel. Here’s an image of the decals before I restored them properly.

Does anyone possibly have a pic of the gas line from a 62? I'm specifically looking for the routing from the front spring shackle to the tank . Is it a one piece line? How long is the flex piece of hose? Any info would help, any kind of pic showing any part of the end of the line at the rear would be great, thanks
Thanks to the pics I'm bending my gas line. It will be over 12 feet long total. Has anyone ever bent the whole line in one piece and installed it in a car with the rear end in car? It looks like I may have to drop the rear to install.

I did mine in one shot. You need to get the car high on stands and let the rear drop down. It's not easy, but can be done. You can put some gentle bends in certain areas and then bend it back when you get it place. I used my old one on the floor and matched the bends on the new tube.

Thanks for the pic. That's what I was planning to drop the rear. I don't have an old line to follow but you and others here have been nice enough to give me plenty of pics to follow. Mine has the 63 tank so my sending units in front. I think your right I'll have to bend it some and then bend it back to finish , Goal is to have it basically running and driving by Memorial day!

Unfortunately my fixer upper house put the Lancer on the back burner, hope to get started again soon. First time I've had my own garage, thought I'd be out there a lot working on the car but more of a carpentry shop lately. How's everybody else projects?

Slowed down a little, just made a long vacation trip. Now back to more of the details.

At least yours is up, I'm wall raising on new construction so no car time at all. Patience.

Been waiting on logger to come in and clear some timber for my shed. He would also cut some in some goat lots. price of pine is so low, hard to give it away. Funny how it is not cheap at the lumber yard!!! Hope to tart back on the Toad this fall after it cools off some, meanwhile I am piddling with other cars under that big oak!

I need some 12 inch windshield wipers. I have the old Anco type stainless arms. Source???

Yep!! lol I have always owned several at a time, old Mopars. Over the decades the herd has been diverse!

The Toad I have owned now about 5 years. When I moved to Tx 2 1/2 years ago, I put all 5 cars I had up for sale, the one left was the Toad! It need engine/trans back in, interior done ( as in seat covers) I care less about headliner, carpet, door panels would nice though) I have repaired all rust, and I painted it 5 years ago, Will shoot it again and fix a few spots. Got to do the brake lines.
A roof and a slab of concrete will be good and weather that the heat index is not bumping 110-115 before I get busy with it!!??

Search for ANCO Pushbutton or Push Button. AKAIK not mopar specific although it looks like you'll want a "2 -claw" style and need the correct arm attachement.
Who knows Wipers and refills? Especially originals

Thanks Mattax! I think I might have a plan to cobb some together, but still don't know what have. These are bright stainless, I was able to get the blade assembly detached from the arm, so that helped to see what I need. Going to my nearest NAPA today to see what they can do. I will update what I find out.

Back when I was in Missouri,5-6 years back, there was a NAPA and even a small O Reilly that had them is stock in the back room,, different sizes. Then one day they all disappeared and no one would ay why!! Funny.

odds are management did an inventory on their supply and determined that for the space they taking up to replace it with faster moving products.....dealerships purge stock at the 10 year mark..out with the old in with the new..

I'm sure you can find a functional blade assembly.
Finding an Anco double claw push button has become more difficult.
For refills, the old ANCO number started with 6, the later Anco replacements were 12-nominal length, and Trico's replacements something like LP-length.
The blade assemblies I don't know. I've seen some called push pin, others red dot, something called Turtleback....

Thanks, mine are not the red dot, there is just a little hole you stick a pin in the hole and then it slides off. I went to NAPA today, we have a real old NAPA store in Waxahachie Tx, I love going in there, it reminds me of the old days, stuff hanging everywhere, some stuff has not moved in years! He ordered me some refills, I will see this weekend if those will work. SlantSixDan pointed me to some ANCO refills on Amazon if the NAPA one won't work. I will post what I find out.

Finally got out to the garage again, bent up the fuel line for the 62.
