Early A 273 manifold - flange pipe questions

I spoke to Mike at tti and they did my exhaust. 2.5” x pipe on my 66’ with factory manifolds. It’s tight. Had to cut a section out of the pipe and weld a plate in just for it to clear the torsion bar. Honestly with an 1-3/4” outlet- nothing larger than 2” with those manifolds.
