Ok, a little off the subject matter but a slant story...
One of our club members races his slant almost every year at MATS. For a couple of years he was knowingly racing with one dead cylinder.
He did some work on the slant and finally got all 6 cylinders working so was looking a running quicker ET at the next MATS.
Nope.
Ran a bit slower with all 6 working.
