Does any one know the proper torque specs for the bolt that holds the right angle oil filter adapter to a 340

I don't know off hand, but am sure someone will chime in. You don't want to go gorilla on it though. I find that I often have to snug it down a bit after the initial install and fire up to stop seepage.

Thanks I broke one bolt last year and don't want to break another

I don't see a torque spec for that in the FSM. I'd try 30 ft/lb as a start. I'm sure that won't break it.

when you do decide to crank it down, hold it with a crescent wrench, that way it doesnt twist and rip the gasket as you singe down on the bolt
(i read 50 pounds on that, but not sure)

Does your bolt have slots or holes too close together?
If you have a hi-volume pump, I thought it would be a good idea to drill a few more holes in it. It's a good idea I said, and so I carefully snugged it up. For me it worked, but others have not been so lucky. After the first driving season I got rid of that thing.
The slotted ones I think are worse.

You cannot, no, must not go by that chart for this bolt. Because it probably isn't even a "Grade 2", and it is hollow and full of holes and/or slots! I don't even think it qualifies as a "bolt". It's just a funky part that Mopar made out of some steel bar stock.
I agree 100 percent. That bolt doesn't have anything to do with that chart. I had a brain cramp there. Sorry. I just did this so I should have known better. Just snug it up tight and recheck for leaks.

Throw it in the trash and use a short filter.

I never got mine to not leak, even on a fresh prepped block with new gaskets.
