Ok, I'm bad with math! I currently have stock Mopar Rallye rims on my 72 Dart. Large bolt pattern, 15 x 6.5 with 4.5" backspacing and 255/60-15 tires on the rear. They just fit. Clearance from the leaf springs is 1/2", as is the inner fender lip, also. I'd like to get Crager SS's 15 x 7 with a 4" back spacing. Will this be an issue??
What about Wheel Vintiques Rallye 15 x 7 with a 4.25" backspacing?? Better choice?
Or do I just stick with what I have and move on with my life! Lol!

4.5" b/s to 4" b/s will put the tire closer to the wheel lip. 4.25" b/s will leave 1/4" to the lip. Leave well enough alone unless you decide to trip the lip.

Thank you!! If I went with a 245 or 235, I would have more clearance. Unfortunately, I just bought another set of 255's for the rear. Damn it! Lol!

The 255-60-15 tire fit much better on a 15 x 7 wheel. The 15 x 6.5 wheel is a little to narrow for that tire. Also the 15 x 6.5 wheel should be 4 1/4 backspace , unless it was custom made.

Yes, my mistake. It’s 4.25”. That being said, i ordered the 15x7 Rallye Wheel with the same back spacing. My 255/60’s will be much happier on that sized rim.

Yes they will.

If you ordered a 7 inch wheel with the same backspacing then the extra 1/2 inch is on the outside of the wheel toward the wheel lip where you said you only had a 1/2 inch of clearance! I've never been able to fit 7 inch wheels on my 70 darts unless I moved the springs against the frame with a kit and then had the extra width on the inside of the wheel taking up the extra space that was made.

I ended up buying Wheel Vintiques Mopar Rallye rims. 15x7 with 4.25 backspacing with 255/60-15 in the back and 15x6 with 3.75 backspacing with 195/65-15 for the front. Plenty of clearance from tire to leaf spring, however, I did have to trim the inner fender lip about 1/4". There was room, but I felt a little more was better.

Pics when you get a chance. Mine has stiff springs in the rear so no rub. with softer springs I might have to trim the lip as well.

What are you going to use for trim rings on the 15 x 6 ralley wheels ?? I never have been able to find a good solution that matches the original 15 x 7 trim rings.

You have to use the 6" rings. They don't fit perfect. I wish Vintiques would weld the Rally centers in backwards so the trim rings would fit better.

I ordered 2" rings. I know they won't be perfect, but it will be better than nothing. Naturally, the 3" ones I had fit the rear just fine.

I was kinda wondering if there was a way , without messing up the trim ring , to cut down a 15 x 7 ring to fit a 15 x 6 wheel. Cut around the inside , with something like a bead roller device.

Frank, these are the 2" rings I put on the 6" rims. A 2.5" would be better, but these work for me and the price was right.

If you look in Scooby's 4th photo, the drop center of the rim is square. The drop center on the back of the rim is tapered and the deeper trim rings would fit better. Polished rings that reflect the rim holes are a beautiful thing. Here's mine. Not too pretty on the rears.
