Ok, so I am working on a 71 valiant f7 green. We could only find a formula in one of the three flavors my buddy has. None of which are single stage. How much clear can I mix in to get close? =/>10%? Car is a more door and the passenger fender already doesn’t match. I am cool with close, I’ll blend what I can. My friend at the shop is always weary about experiments, so I can’t get a straight answer.
Thanks

Go elsewhere for single stage.

Green is a great color & more-doors need to represent!

From what I gather you are using a base coat/ clear coat, correct? You don't mix clear into a base coat. You paint/ blend your panels with base coat and then apply
clear coat over all the panels you put base coat on.

Yes, I know how I am supposed to do it. The car got hit and I replaced the fender, valance, bumper, and had to do a little work on the hood. I will go with A T/A suggestion before I base and clear it. It’s going to need a full paint at some point. The other fender and splash shield are packed with fiberglass and will also need to be replaced

I know it is possible and has been done. I suppose the single is easier, but much less convenient. I would hate to have to burn a pint on old panels to figure it out. I gave up on trying to get paint around here from anywhere else after I tried ordering some and New York State was not having it.

After seeing those prices call this guy first. His name is Chad. I'm getting my paint thru him I'm guessing he can mix you some single stage idk. I'm going a base clear. He is amazing he was so helpful and isnt much more than that on his urethane base. I'm getting a quart of base for 147. I'm sure ae single stage will be cheaper. I was lead to him by spi if that tells you anything.
I don't think that's I'm supposed to put phone numbers here so I will PM you.

You can find a PPG Paint dealer in your area, give them your F7 Green paint code and they can mix you up quarts and or gallons in single stage "Omni" acrylic enamel.

One of our Advanceautoparts stores here in Lakeville MN sells the PPG automotive finishes.

Here is what they mixed me for a 69 Satellite code F8 Dark Green Poly in the Omni brand, single stage.

I use the better DXR-80 hardener with it so it will hold a good shine. The Omni hardener does not perform as well.

Go to an auto paint supplier and have them take their color camera to the car. If they know what they are doing they will get you a very close match. Paint codes mean nothing in color matching.

Advance auto, formerly car quest still does it. Not sure if they have the camera though. Like I said, I just need it close. It will need a full paint in the near future.

I'll second the omni line of ppg. I used a f7 green single stage urethane but beware it is very translucent
