Might go buy a new Challenger tomorrow

-
Brand new probably. ....just need better milage than my full size truck....V8 or maybe even a V6..... I'm driving 25 miles each way to work now. ....the gas in the truck is killing me...plus I just want a Challenger!

I figure they're not A-Bodies.....what is the body designation?
What do you guys think about the new Challengers?

Jeff
I would buy the Hemi for myself but I will say that the V6 Pentastar engine is the same one that's in my company can and it rocks for a 6. Also a colleague of mine just bought one and he's getting 29 MPG out of it. I've been able to get 28 out if the van but you REALLY have to be concentrating on what you're doing. Anyway you you're getting a cool car, hope you enjoy it, send us a few pics if you get it.

Nice color Jeff.... Glad you pulled the trigger..... I have to say... You got a lot of good input from these guys.... Good riding car. Wont have that truck ride to deal with... :)
But I know we still lover our trucks... Yep even the Brand-X ones...

Congrats on the new ride Jeff!
Bring it to an Inland Mopars club meeting and show it off.

New car!!! Nice colour; I’d choose that with my second choice being B5.

Been driving it around this morning bonding with it......
Never told ya'll the price. ....
$18,840!
How do they do that ?????!!!!!!

Freaking car is great!!!!!
This evening when it's cooler I'm taking the 'Cuda for a spin!!!

I'm a fortunate, lucky guy.......

Jeff

I had a 2012 R/T 6-speed for a long time, traded it in on a new truck about 2 years ago.
I wish I would have kept it, it was loaded with leather and all the gadgets, but at the time I needed a heavier truck to pull my camper.
I was a great car, I traded it in with 18,000 miles on it, it was a cream puff.
I bought it cheap 9 months old with 3,000 miles.

Right????
How the F do they do it for that price?!!!

Jeff
They are moving inventory so they get new replacements when the 2020 models come out in August. Big dealerships do this every year and they are still making a profit, albeit a small one, on every vehicle. Consider that employee pricing is even less than what they sold you yours for and they still make a profit on that.

I'm very interested... except for one thing.

Before we moved from Georgia to Virginia to get closer to my aging mother, Georgia had a yearly "ad valorem" tax on motor vehicles. I don't like taxes, but it wasn't so bad.

Before we moved back to Georgia 4 years later, the tax was changed to "Title Ad Valorem Tax" and they now collect 6% of the value "They" put on it. The entire 6% is collected at the time of purchase. So, not only do you pay sales tax, you now pay another 6% tax. Starting to feel like Commifornia!!!

Worse yet, when you move into the state you have to pay the tax before you can register your vehicles.

I'd like to have a new car, but I'm going to drive the wheels off my current cars before I pay 12% taxes on a new one.

The state knows people like to get new vehicles often and they steal more of the taxpayers money the new way.

Jeff

The dealers would probly want twice that here in "RAPEM" , Tulsa Oklahoma !
Think their kin to Hillary !

Awesome score, that V6 paired with the 8-speed trans is a fantastic combo. My mom has a fully-loaded 2014 Chrysler 300C with the same drivetrain and it's even AWD, it really hauls a$$. However you can feel the difference in power compared to the 5.7 Hemi at higher speeds when the gearing can't help anymore, her previous car was a 2009 300C AWD with the Hemi and 5-speed, I'm sure the new one would keep up in a drag race until about 70 mph then the Hemi would just pull away. I still miss her old 300 when I'm driving the new one on the freeway, that Hemi was a beast for passing maneuvers.

If they offered the newer models with the Hemi, 8-speed and AWD we probably would have gotten one of those but they don't. Only way to get the Hemi with AWD is the older 5-speed models. And we needed the AWD here in Colorado, at least for my mom... I can manage with RWD in snow lol

I think I just saw an ad for Rams being 25% off MSRP today
I lucked out I guess, when I traded my Challenger for my Ram, the Ram came in as a 2017 with a load of 2018's marked down 10K while still on the trailer. 3500, 4.10 gears, 6.4 hemi, snow-commander package, gas hog. I only drive it when needed, I refuse to put gas in it for a daily driver. But when I need a truck, it will do the job.

Does you mom run snow/winter tires on her 300AWD?

My has a '17 durango GT with the V6 and 8 speed. We have put 44k miles on it without a single trip to the dealer other than oil changes and a nail in the tire. We drove it from Oklahoma to Florida twice for vacation, loaded down with two adults, two kids, and lots of luggage. I haven't wished for or regretted not getting the HEMI so far, we only have a single Sea Doo and I use my truck to haul cars around. So the HEMI wasn't necessary.

We got it at the end of '17 and I wanted to wait and see if they offered them in destroyer grey. But she hated that idea and we settled for billet silver. Destroyer grey is a badass color.

wow, cheapest I've seen them! They usually want that price for a 2015 with 35k on it. You did well. And got me think'n………
I was just looking at a 2012 with 65k and they wanted 19k
You got a heck of a deal. I wish they made that v6 with a 6 speed manual

I can't find a dealer around here that will sell a new V6 for under 19k. 27k is what they want. Jeff got a steal

Nope just some good Michelin all-seasons, they work fine for the weather we get. We tried snow tires on her old 300, it doesn't really snow enough here to need them and the ride and handling are noticeably worse.
