Is this normal?

Thanks for asking, For the moment its not. Life getting in the way kinda thing, however i have a second build thread on a 69 notchback. My son is now 6. No more real little ones to buzzkill my time in the shop. Its super hard with 2 people that work full time and deal with 3 kids.

Now the 69 started as a half stripped parts car for my 67. Bought it that way. Realized its pretty solid, and can be restored. Decided to store it the last 4 years out at a buddys place under a carport while making a list and collecting up the parts for it. Car was in full view of the highway behind a fence. I am betting he is glad its gone as he was getting tired of people asking if it was for sale and having to tell them no. Now he has a clean barn fresh 68 chevelle malibu 2 door hardtop parked where the cuda was. This is an eventual build for his wife. So at least its not my car people will be asking questions about lol. Honestly, i could see myself building that chevelle, its way cleaner than the 69 i have.

My son and i started on the 69s actual resurrection on May 11th this year. I told him if he puts in the sweat equity its his when he is driving age. The meat and potatoes of the build as in the metal replacement will start when he is around 11. Just trying to assess the vehicle, make it look somewhat decent, and stop the exterior corrosion for now.

Using PPG 2K aircraft epoxy primer 512X310 light grey. this meets BMS specifications for adhesion and corrosion resistance. i got this expired from work. Its urethane compatible, tough as nails, sprays and fills nicely, sands well with 220 to apply a high build blocking primer over it. Sombody brutalized it with a DA sander in multiple spots then left it to the elements. Its a loooong road reversing that.

The whole build thread is quite entertaining , however the rebuilding process begins on about page 8. Go look in members restorations for (67/68/69 cuda dilemma) should be on page 1. I just posted to it last night.
