Really curious if I have any other header options other then tti and fender well headers for my dart sport. It's a 440 4 speed im running a hydrulic clutch ford 9 inch rear 4 wheel disc brakes building this on some what of a budget. I just was curious if any era of b or e body headers would work thanks it's still got alot of work to go

I got a set of Hedman HTC headers from O'REILLY store pn# 78036 long tube style. Going in my 69 Dart 440 4speed. 553.00 plus tx. We have an account from work so maybe it helped. I'm blown away at the prices for A body headers.

I see no way those will work in an A body. I hope I am wrong.

I am right. Those are only for the B and E body. They will not fit your Dart.

Here is the detail page from Hedman. Scroll to the bottom where it says "VEHICLE APPLICATIONS" and you will see all they fit are B and E bodies. They are not an A body header.

I believe you can definitely use a standard big block header on a low block, I am not sure if they will fit on a raised block. BIGBLOCKDART.COM has a tech section that has a lot of info on this subject.

The passenger side fits fine, it’s the #7 tube on the drivers side that screws everything up.

The Hedman style B body headers will sometimes fit the 67 and up A body with the low deck. There have been people who haven't had to dent a single pipe, but with the 440, they do not fit. No ands, ifs or buts.

Neither side fits with a 440. I've tried it more than twice. The low deck is entirely another animal.

Yup, should have said low deck.

Mad dog headers and Schumacher are other under chassis varieties.

I can tell you from first hand expirience pro parts partial fenderwell headers are a pain in the A$$

Agree 100% and I'd never use them again. you still have to cut quite a bit from the drivers side fenderwell. The slip on collectors are a PITA too. The drivers side tire clearance is still compromised. Might as well go under chassis or full fenderwell exit.

If I build another car I’m going headman hustler.

I would say reconsider TTI headers, Yes they are really expensive but its my belief that with headers you get what you pay for. I went with there under chassis headers and yes they were around 800 bucks which is ridiculous but they fit first time with no mods and how much is your time worth? for me I wanted to install headers once and never mess with them again.

Yes your wrong and yes it was and is a *****. They're installed but with everything on this Dart RB nothing is easy. Im using a soft faced mallet and using a sharpie have shaped the tubes on drivers side to give a RCH on my manual steering gear and torsion bar also the inside for tail end of starter housing. My passenger side is hitting 2 runners on torsion bar but it sits in there but tighter than I thought. There was no returning as you gotta start somewhere. My issue at this point is pass side tubes not allowing engine to sit up off fender well. To get these in I removed string column and moved manual master cylinder off to the side. Also had a not so good pick using engine hoist and tilting engine. Northern California is smoking hot now so swimming more wrenching less. Heres some pics so it's real if it's in pics right haha.

Well good! I am glad you got them to work. I'm sure these guys would love some shots of the dents so that might help them as well.......if you can get some.

Yep it'll prob come out a couple more times Haha. Would have replied sooner and got a email notice that there was activity on post. I'll try n be more attentive as to not leave the fellow A body brothers hanging.

If you would also post the part number, I am sure some of the big block guys would be appreciative.

Pro Parts are by far the easiest to install. they are partial fenderwell. They went in so easy i had to recheck it!

So as of today yes those Headman headers fit but not the best. Lots of different dents and that purple A body sporting the TTI headers is who im going to listen to. It'll be next year most likely as I need to finish this build. The passenger side his show is higher than inner fender mine has minor air gap n will bubble paint. So just putting it out there I was misled by our OREALLY parts manager and I blindly followed as they were shiney wish i spent another 300.00 and was done.

I heard someone say once, "When you stuff a motor in a car that it was never designed for, you know who makes headers for it? You do!"

What is ur power level. Maybe the Schumachers will suffice. Kim
This engine I'm unsure it was in a boat. Is a recent rebuild with Schnider little big cam. Wasn't able to extract good info from guy. Will call his machine shop to see wday they did. I have another 69 440 block that'll be built next couple years.
