Thank you for the suggestions how does a street dominator compare to a strip dominator?
The Street Dominator has narrower runners. It is otherwise EXACTLY the same as the Strip Dominator.

Yes I’m always up to being educated the more I know the less I have to aggravate y’all lol and the more I can help others in the future.
So my understanding is that either would work for my application. But the street dominator might fit better being the car is a street car and won’t see higher rpm ranges often?

Well. Yes in a manor. I suggest fitting the intake to the size and parameters of the engine rather than go by the manufacturers description of intended rpm range since that description is for standard size engines. 372 is a border line engine since it is only a near 12 cubes over a 360. Most intakes are with the thought of a 340 in mind. Few exceptions to this.

(At this point, I’d have to review your engine specs again but I Rene ever it is a W2 headed engine. Unless the cam is really big, for the street, nearly any single plane intake will work. There isn’t a dual plane W2 intake except the MP-M1.)

The Street Don had a slightly less “Listed RPM range” from Holley. It’s been many years but it could have ether been 6K or 6.5K. I don’t remember anymore. I don’t have my old PAW catalogs anymore!

Extremely similar to the Holley Strip Dominator.

In the last photo, this is the entrance shot. It is a little hard to compare with the Holley Street Dominator in the next photo/post.

The M1 does have the appearance of being ever so slightly larger. Only at the entrance. At the head, there the same.

The two side by side. Same height, same runners though the M1 is “Victor” styled with the runners being air gapped.

The Holley appears to have shorter runners but do not be fooled by the appearance of the outside! That solid wall is THICK! It hides the runners shape.

Notice both intakes are water heated. The Strip Dominator is not.

The one thing I like about the street Dominator is the water tapped spots up front. The M1 has but one. But the underside is open to hot oil.

Ether will kick *** IMO.

There is no comparison; street dominator is small port 273/318, strip dominator is what you want.
street dom is for a stock/mild motor,..strip dom for high hp use!

This is the intake (1 of many versions) you guys are recommending.
This will not fit W2 heads. (It is also for sale here. Credit Oldkimmer for the currently for sale intake picture. 6/26/19)
This is true for standard heads, which he is not using.
Hence my W2 pictures.

and why induction hardened shaft instead of deep case hardening
do the needles run directly on the shaft?
hard to get lift with stock base circle with only 1.5
why limit to 5/16 balls
what length valves?

It’s a process and I have seen all the money going out ordering the parts. Now I’m ready to see the car come together. Which is currently happening on a slow pace. It’s so hot in Louisiana the guy building it for me can only work up until about lunch time. I wish I could do more myself, but lack of time keeps me from that right now(husband and father of three with a 2 week old / plant technician who works more than his share of OT).
 
Singing my song there Logan! Singing my song that I sang for many years. At least, now, I’m a senior man at the job. Working smarter and less. But still with extra hours. At least now, it is more gravy than gravel.

i once had a 371 -372 whatever you what call it. it was awesome . has the 360 crank turn down to fit in the 340 I use stock rods trw 340 piston j heads vic jr intake .030 overs cut top of or mill ed pistons for deck height backed buy a 727 5000 stall dana 60 4.56 gears run the best of 12.03 @ 110.00 60 ft @1.60 got time slip to prove it. I should have gone to the 11 with that set up just miss it. the pic in on the left is the dart I was talking about in my avatar

Looking for recommendations for a oil pan and pickup for this application. We want to make sure we have enough capacity and don’t run into clearance issues being it’s a street car.
 
I think the Kevco pans are the most straight forward to implement, larger capacity SBM pans. I've got one for my 340 (M301) that keeps the outline of the original and only hangs an inch or less lower. They have bigger ones that may work for you too.

hmmm...didn't a fellow from New Jersey named Emilio win "Pinks All Out" a few years ago with a 372?
A friend campaigned a 372 to consistent 10.3's in a 70 Duster.
