Seriously considering selling my car that I've owned since around 95 and has evolved to what it is today. Damaged my left foot a year ago and can no longer push in the clutch plus other things that happen in life. Probably 90% there to sell will decide soon been a part of the family my son even drove it to high school but most things come to an end sometime

Nicer car , punctuation sucks-----

sorry to hear about your foot. maybe a hydraulic clutch and face plated gears? then you would not have to use the clutch to shift...
reminds me of a fellow in town that had a weak left leg and used his cane to depress the clutch pedal.

Checked into that and other solutions some time ago and the feed back I got from members on here was that a hydraulic would be just as hard to push plus wasn't willing to do the work. Never thought this would happen but I have lost interest in this car I have a 72 C10 yes I know all about owning a GM but I really like it plus old age is kicking in liking the slower pace and being that grumpy old man

As long as you stay in the car hobby. Ya sometimes my 4 speed car isn't the way to go. I do like my automatic car though.

Nice car. I love the color! Maybe instead of selling it you should swap it to an automatic! I'm sure the manual wouldn't be hard to sell and automatic torqueflights can be found relatively cheap and easy. I'm sure if you sell it you will wind up regretting it. What type of asking price are you thinking?

I had a 69 Bee that was originally a 4 speed that the previous owner switched to a automatic for drag racing. He pulled the linkage and left the pedal and under dash stuff in it. Just push the pedal to the floor and leave it there for the next guy.

That's a great idea! I like that.

Really hate to but I'll explore this option but I would need to have the shifter on the column - hate after market automatic shifter on the floor - possibly a OD automatic -- food for thought -- way to much work - time and $$ invested in this car -- I guess that's why I posted this to get feed back -- sure don't need to sell it money is not the issue -- since my son drove it in high school would like to pass it down to him but hate just letting it set have only driven it a couple time in the past year

This is the hardest decision for a car guy. Usually we sell one project to finance another. Not so in your case it seems. If you've lost interest its ok to let it go. I let my Duster of 20 years go for the same reason. I had something else to tinker with though, like you have your truck. It took me a while to be comfortable with the decision before I let it go. Just be sure your ok with not having it in your life anymore. Only other option would be long term storage if your son has a interest in it. Best of luck to you.

I have noticed as I have gotten older (71), that my ability to do things, and my zest for it all, has diminished. I still seem to have my dreams but the reality of my strength and $$ rears its ugly head!!
Does your son have any interest in the car?

 I thought that was only me. I have lost my Mopar Mojo.

I'm sure you could find a automatic column fairly easily. If not just do a floor shifter and with the pedal left in it will still look like a 4 speed! Lol
If money is not an issue just give it to me I will take care of it for you! Lol
Seriously tho if money isn't an issue keep it in the garage safe and sounds you dont have to feed it and it doesn't cost much if anything if its not on the road. It will only increase in valve.

Maybe you could have a swap done back to auto. Properly of course. If you were to trade all the 4spd parts for auto parts and labor it would be a wash?
I didnt pull our 67 out of storage this year due to priorities and life.
Best of luck.

I thought about an electric operated slave cylinder that could be activated with the line-loc button. you could have two settings: street driving with a slight delay or slip of the clutch and track which would just dump the clutch. ideas yes, doing no.
being that grumpy old man...I like that! and the truck! enjoy!

I swapped out my 4 speed pistol grip shifter for an auto and I found something a little different for a shifter. Kilduff Machine. It uses standard b&m cable setup

Mine was a 904 auto, I wanted to go 4-Spd so during the build, I welded in the floor hump, started acquiring parts etc, then my left leg started having issues. I can still shift, but my condition will only progress, so how much longer could I shift? I made the decision not to find out after the car gets finished, & cut the hump back out, went to the junkyard, cut a hunk of Caddy floor out, beat it into shape & welded a rounded trans tunnel back in. I also found a Dakota AOD trans that I plan on rebuilding. I do want to do a manual VB as well. I did have that originally on the 904 with a Hurst ProMatic under a factory console.

Give it to your son. So 20 years from now he won’t be posting a thread on here. ANYONE KNOW WHERE THIS CAR IS? LOOKING FOR MY POPS CARS!

Well thanks for the input going to put the car in my work area sleep on it and look into stuff and options for switching over to an automatic Going to check with a friend that is a semi retired parts dealer I remember he once showed me an automatic floor shifter that look close to a manual shifter

Been thinking this over and by no means am I getting any younger leaning real hard towards the 727 with gearvenders still doing research this is a made care nothing oem so doesn't matter what I do to it

I looked through the thread here and didn't notice which motor do you have? I put a transgo 3 shift kit in a 904 a couple summers ago behind a very spirited 318 and wasn't disappointed that much that I had lost my four Speed. That was the fully manual shift kit and I did use a B & M Quicksilver ratchet shifter on the floor. I know you didn't like the floor shifter but it was nice. The shift came very quick and snappy but not banging...
I guess what I'm trying to say is you can make an automatic pretty fun...

I left the entire pedal cluster in my factory 4 speed Ranchero when I did the 351W and C4 swap. Built a little bracket out of 1" box tubing and 1"x1/4" strap to clamp the 2 pedals together. It was nice to drive in LA traffic, but I sure missed that high winding 289 and the 4 gear.

After crunching the numbers and other issues I am picking up a 74 Valiant with 318 automatic for a donor car and I will be using everything to switch over to the automatic including the 904 "for now anyway" this will be far easier than trying to piece stuff together plus have lots of extra - keeping the 4 speed hump in the car and saving all the 4 speed stuff in case my foot get's better hell depending how bad this thing is I have the bell - flywheel - 833OD OH forgot still can't use the clutch but may toss it in anyway for the time being or clean it up and try to sell with the 833OD but no clutch stuff of column
