Mine was a 904 auto, I wanted to go 4-Spd so during the build, I welded in the floor hump, started acquiring parts etc, then my left leg started having issues. I can still shift, but my condition will only progress, so how much longer could I shift? I made the decision not to find out after the car gets finished, & cut the hump back out, went to the junkyard, cut a hunk of Caddy floor out, beat it into shape & welded a rounded trans tunnel back in. I also found a Dakota AOD trans that I plan on rebuilding. I do want to do a manual VB as well. I did have that originally on the 904 with a Hurst ProMatic under a factory console.
