67 Barracuda weight

-
Looks like factory weights are similar for Dusters, last time I had my '70 Duster on a scale it was 3480 with me in it and about 60 lbs. of tools in the trunk and a half-tank of gas. So minus all that it would be around 3200-3300? My car has a B-body 8 3/4", big heavy 15" Rallyes and fat tires, factory undercoating, power steering, and a big 50-lb battery which will be relocated to the trunk. Engine is a 5.9 Mag with Eddy aluminum heads and intake but I haven't had it weighed since getting the current engine installed.

I agree find another scale to double-check that does seem pretty high. Although that factory A/C setup is around 100 lbs. with the big-*** compressor, evaporator and condenser, drier, and all the lines. A 727 is a decent bit heavier than a 904 as well. What rear end is in the car?

A trick you can also do is measure the front and rear separately to get an idea of weight distribution, just drive the front wheels on first, get a weight, then drive over till just your rear wheels are on the scale and measure again.
The rear end is an 8 3/4 sure grip with factory drum brakes

The winner is who ever guessed 3340 pounds.
I drove the car today and went to our county certified scale at the Road and Bridge dept, which was just certified by the State of MO 2 weeks ago. Two blocks from the scale I stopped and fill it with fuel. The car weight 3440 pounds with me out of the car.
So minus the fuel 16 gallons at 6.3 pounds per gallon or roughly 100 pounds off the total weight equals 3340 pounds. Close enough for me.
The person who guessed closest to 3340 can pick up their prize at the door on their way out.
Thanks much to all who participated.

What is the point of subtracting the weight of the fuel? Isn't gas kinda necessary?

Interesting point. When the guy for the converter is asking the questions, does he ask your weight fully clothed or naked?

Dealers choice
I will include the weight of the fuel in the converter calculations.
In the real world I dont think 100 pounds is going to make a difference.
But then again I could be wrong
I know the car hooks up more with a full tank hanging out there past the rear axle.

All this has been interesting to watch. Reminds me that when I get my car on the road, I will be looking for a scale, rather three scales and will average them. Thanks for asking the question.

That would be 3390 with a half tank, I guessed 3410 with a half tank

So I protest, I was closer. I'm not leaving til I get the prize. In the meantime, I'm thirsty.
OK you are very close with your guess.
Next time you are in Lake of the Ozarks, MO please stop in and pick up your major award.
Until then kick back and have one of those famous Canadian beers.
Congratulations
