I had a 69 Bee that was originally a 4 speed that the previous owner switched to a automatic for drag racing. He pulled the linkage and left the pedal and under dash stuff in it. Just push the pedal to the floor and leave it there for the next guy.

I left the entire pedal cluster in my factory 4 speed Ranchero when I did the 351W and C4 swap. Built a little bracket out of 1" box tubing and 1"x1/4" strap to clamp the 2 pedals together. It was nice to drive in LA traffic, but I sure missed that high winding 289 and the 4 gear.
