Will 3m hold on the swinger emblems?

I wouldnt use it. I dont like the factory plastic sleeves either. I bought a box of the stamped nuts to screw on the posts. Work great and no worry about the emblem coming loose. I got the nuts from mcmaster carr but had to order a box of 100.
Shoot me a PM.

Probably same as Duster. There a piece that goes in the fender holes firs. Emblem then pushes in and it grabs the posts. There are similar ones that are sealed for trunk.

The nuts cut their own thread. Trust me, I just installed the emblems on my swinger with these. I will get some pics.

those little white plastic sleeves are what the factory used......those nuts will work if you can get to the backside of panel to put them on.....Just a tip.....if you have the factory size holes in the panel, I have used a piece of air line tubing the right size in place of those plastic sleeves and they work great also.....forget off the top of my head but maybe 1/4 inch tubing????

I measured the holes in the fender and trunk lid with a drill blank, and yes you are correct they do sell different sizes for a 1/8" emblem stud.....

Out of the many options I still think the nuts are the best choice. They hold tight and pull the emblem nice and flush. Easy to remove the emblem later without worrying about damaging it. Sometimes those barrell nuts dont like to let go.
The plastic sleeves....forget them. They switched to those because they were cheap, not because they are better.

Ok. Thanks for the help. I have a couple more emblems to run down or luckily find. (Lost moving to new house)
If you have emblems with broken studs you can use 2 sided tape to attach. You'd have to trim the
excess tape with a razor blade around the letters. Only real savvy people would notice this, if an
emblem is attached this way. This is the way that a lot of emblems are attached on later model cars.

I do what Lee Robinson says. I use 3-M (only) double sided trim tape. It does not come off/loose in heat of the day, like cheaper versions of the stuff. You also don't have to worry about chipping the paint in the hole, as you do when using the studs, with nuts.

MoparMike, I too am restoring a 70 Swinger with Dodge on the trunk and hood, Dart Swinger on each quarter panel, and a pentastar on the passenger fender. I tried to PM you but your inbox is full. Do you have enough spare speednuts of the proper size to sell to me as well?

I probably have enough to let some more go. I want to keep some in my stash for when I need them. Cleared out my inbox, shoot me a pm and let me know how many your looking for.
