Any fans ?
From Kenosha wisconsin so yeah I'm a fan, my dad and brother had cj-5s and7s. My dad has a cj-7 with a 401/727 4.10 gears.
The 4x4 eagles are probably one of the coolest cars ever created. Talk about a car company being ahead of the curve. Go home Subaru, you didn't come up anything new. AMC already been there, done that, got the T shirt.I've always like AMC the ramblers and rebels are my favorite they look so moparie! Lol I like the amx to it has always looked like a hybrid between a mustang and barracuda to me! I'd love to have one of the old 4x4 eagles too. I almost bought one one time I always regretted not buying it.
I made a mistake it's the javelin that reminds me of a a hybrid of the barracuda and mustangs!! Not the amx. The amx and javelin are very similar too.I've always like AMC the ramblers and rebels are my favorite they look so moparie! I agree! They are really cool and they ran very well too! I'm not 100% sure on the options available as far as engines and transmissions go but that would be aawesom with a small v8 and a manual transmission. I think the one I drove and thought about buying was a four cylinder. I remember test driving it. It was very clean, 1 owner (old woman) traded it in on a new jeep. It was at the dodge jeep dealership. IIRC it was a 85 model. The 4x4 eagles are probably one of the coolest cars ever created. Talk about a car company being ahead of the curve. It was nice having one block for pretty much everything. Rarely heard at an AMC convention: "That got a big block?" Hey, I got a Gen 3!AMC built good motors, just was a hassle figuring out what they bolted on. Everything external was from somewhere else. Like my 360, had a Ford carb, Chevy/delco distributor, Chevy transmission... Dana axles, but Chevy brakes on the front

66-70 were Gen 2. 70-91 were tall deck Gen 3. Other than the deck, the block was the same size. Of the 56-66 Gen 1 engines the first was a piddly 250 cubes.I was thinking that, 304,360,390,& 401 were all the same I believe block wise... I wasn't sure if I am remembering right, so I didn't say it
Always lusted for a 71 Mark Donahue 401 4 speed in the crazy mustard color.
Cool i know a couple guys with pretty bad *** amcs, a couple 10second Rebel machines, amx's, Sc/ramblers and hornets.I grew up just north of Kenosha in Racine, so many rides home in a renault alliance, fuego, eagle, but I got my first real ride in a '68 AMX with a 3 speed, His pops had a hurst s/c rambler.
