Hello to the Forum. I have a 1971 Plymouth Duster which requires installation of new door window sweeps (weather seals). I am looking for advice on how to remove the old sweeps and install the new ones. For example, do I need to remove the door panels? And if so, how is that done. On this car the panels appear to be 2 pieces with the bottom part of the panel held in with screws instead of clips.

Welcome!! We never mind a few snap shots of your ride...…. :)

Welcome to FABO!

I'm not sure on the 71. Do you have the replacement ones yet? My 66 Barracuda has clips attached to the window sweeps that clip into slots on the doors. You just clip them in. A little work with windows in but not too bad.

I used needle nose pliers to get what was left of the old ones out.

Yes, I have the new ones and they have the clips that run along the top of the door. I had thought of using pliers to pull out the olds ones but did not know if that would work. Thanks for the input, I will give a try.

My old ones had almost no felt on them. Getting them out totally destroyed them!

I drive mine every week and it sure is nice that windows don't rattle anymore!!!

I took your advice. Pulled the old weather sweeps with needle nose pliers and installed the new ones. Thanks for the assist.
