Just curious what you guys do to rust proof your door seams. I have a door that was rust free until it sat outside full of water for 6 months. I cleaned it out but there is some surface rust inside. The seam looks fine from the outside. I think I will pour some POR15 in there and move the door around to get it to the seams.

Would it be a good idea to use the POR15 Metal Prep first? It needs to be rinsed and I am not crazy about getting water in there again.

Any other ideas?

I like your plan. I assume there are drain holes to remove any water from rinsing. be sure they remain open and clear with any treatment you do.

I had a front fender chemically striped. The company didn't have any rust inhibitor treatment process so i took 2 part epoxy paint, taped the edges of the back side brace and poured the paint in and sloshed it around till i felt it was fully coated, then drained. Seemed to work well.

Great idea! I may do same thing.

Doors are designed to run water down the glass and some will go inside door. The problem is when the drains get clogged up, which they do fairly easy since the hole is small.
A heavy coat of epoxy down in there followed up with some good quality seam sealer. Be sure the seam sealer is level and wont keep the water from running to the drain. Do the whole bottom seam and up the sides a few inches. I wouldnt worry about going all the way up.

Not a thing in the world with enlarging and adding drain holes, either.

Rust convertor first. Have one customer that soaks the bottom of the doors with wd-40. Has been doing it since new.
The ram looks solid.

I have done this for decades: pull the door anel, clean out all the debris hose it all out till it drains clean out the drain slots in bottom of door, reach in and try to remove any surface rust with paper, scotch pad etc. ,spray it good with Ospho, let it sit all day, next day do same again with Ospho and then NEUTRALIZE IT with water. Then I will coat the insidie of door with epoxy primer and a pr9nter brush, then I tp coat with heavy enamel like Rustoleum out of a can NOT spray can. I quit using Por 15 3 decades ago, too expensive and other stuff works just as good for me.
I do th same on bottom inside edge of door basically, except it will get topcoated with auto paint, if needed paintable auto seam sealer.

I did the Ospho thing. Blew everything out with air to get all debris out. I also added a drain hole in the very front of the door as I've seen a lot with rust there. I also cleaned and sprayed down between the trunk drop offs and the quarters.
