Luckly there is an old timer here or they wouldn't know what to do with it.

67 getting smogged? Where, even in Commiefornia the cutoff date is 76 now? Good luck, I hope they use the 67 baselines....."uh huh...where is the OBD-2 port on this thing...? Uh huh...yeah! what is this? "

That would be hilarious to mount one under the dash, and have it hooked up to a ECU showing all kinds of crazy device settings and readings!

2017(Carb and engine and gas that hadn't been used in 4+ years)

2018 (rebuilt carb with leaner jets)

2019 (same rebuild from last year but with original jets)

You need to make friends with a dyno guy.

Nice job on passing smog tho!

I bet it blew those guys minds!

X2 that car would be lucky to pass the test off the show room floor.

But it has the "Cleaner Air Package"

I just wish I knew what changed between the 2017 test and these later tests ( other than the rebuild) in 2017 when I took the carb apart the gaskets had dried out so much i could remove the screws with my fingers.

Maybe it was the 4+ year old California gas!

It is still cool, that an old car can actually pass, with a good state of tune.

or even a bad one! it has a misfire ( as evidenced by the high HC)
Here in WV there is no emissions testing, but an annual safety inspection.
The inspection consists basically of, do all the lights, horn and wipers work, and is no broken glass.
Is the car leaking exhaust gas, the steering can have no more than 1/4" of play in it at the front tire.
Tires must have some tread and the brakes not be grinding.

I have a co-worker that every one of his cars, it usually take him a couple of tries to pass, and he makes great money, but is so cheap, buys 2K cars and runs them until they do no move.
And he complains about safety inspections, the last time when one of his cars failed, I told him, the safety inspections was to keep his junk off the road.

BBD question...

I have a donor carb and it has small gaskets under the jets. Mine did not have them when i rebuilt it. Any one use them. It would raise the jets up into the netering rods abit changing the tune.

Thoughts?

Im guessing the 'limits' is the max you can have at idle to pass? Cuz you blew a few of those off idle....CA measures all the **** under load on a dyno roller. We're so anal here that my 82 B2000 failed because he (the machine) could not get the RPM to match the wheel speed! At 15 mph, the motor was revving too high in first gear.....I asked him in the simpleton most way "Its a manual, how can I fix engine speed at RPM? Its a fixed value..they are called gears!" He told me to take it to a referee (and not come back because every car he fails shows up on a report)...F these clowns. Ref sent me back and told him he had permission to test 15 mpg in second gear. Uh, thanks? Same guy then failed me because a vacuum hose (1 of only 7 vacuum hoses on this model) that went to the evap shutter on the air cleaner "didn't look like it went there, and I have no vacuum diagram of this federal model in my book" Oh just F'n shoot me her and now!!!

The smog laws are there because the car companies lobbied to get old cars off the road.
Its planned obslence. If old cars keep working and folks keep fixing them they dont sell cars.

My "race car" burns cleaner than most cars on the road, is 40 years old and it has out lived its carbon foot print by thousands of miles.

That's not what the folks who sell cars want.
