we loved out tacoma and it always pulled the trailer great. actually impressed with how it pulled up some hills and was always able to pick up speed. main issue was with three people and three dogs in it things got too tight.

i originally thought of a tundra being we are a toyota family. they have been great to us over the years. problem is the tundra isn't so great in the payload dept and it really gets crappy mpg even unloaded..

we looked at the GMC and Fords. couldn't pay me enough to look at a ram with all the bad experiences i've had with new chryslers over the years... i liked fords but the 150 didn't do enough fo rme.. plus they were pushing that damn echo boost. many swear by it but twin turbos are just another expensive thing to go wrong with it for me.. i liked the f250 but not sure i needed that much truck. would be overkill nothing wrong with overkill but i just don't think i needed that much overkill.. i liked the GMC door opening better, like the looks of the gmc a little better so thats what we got..

its a GMC 1500 with the 6.2L motor,10 speed transmission,3:42 gears and max tow package. should pull my trailer with ease. and if what i've been told by various owners of this combo it should get unloaded MPG damn close and maybe better then the V6 tacoma. damn thing has way too much **** in it for me, i would have been happy with a stripped down version but to get the 6.2 you need the slt minimum and there were no basic ones within 500 miles so we went with this loaded one with quite a few discounts.

i just hope this thing doesn't make be regret not getting a tundra. i have a few friends with the LS based trucks and they all love them so lets hope i have the same feeling along the ownership line.

freaking thing flies.. on my way to work the other night i was cruising along and looked down and was like holy ****!! .. i was doing 90mph. felt like i was going a lot slower then that.. gonna have to use the cruise control to keep me out of trouble...

jamie likes the steps to get in, my daughter loves the room in the back seat and rear heated seats along with that crazy *** tailgate. tailgate does look quite useful. we will see..

Oh heck yeah! ....and that's got that fancy new tailgate on it too! That's a nice truck. I bet it will flat out haul butt.

Oh you are in for a treat when you hook a trailer up to it..... There is no replacement for new technology.....

its got 4:30 gears and only a 6 speed i think.. its supposed to be redesigned in 2020 or 2021 i think..

Nice!! I told my wife not long ago if I could afford a new truck it would be a GMC. I love that pro tailgate with the fold outs and plug ins thats so cool my only question is why did it take so long to put a plug in in a truck? I am always running an extension cord and running a generator to power my tools when working on projects It would be nice to just plug it in the truck and run a saw drill etc.

the tacoma had a plug in the bed. this has one in the bad and one on the dash..
On the dash? Interesting.
If i had a choice it would be a gm also.
Buddy’s daughter has a 14. Its been pretty decent. 160,000 two cv shafts and brakes on all 4 corners.
Paint is garbage though. Dont sneeze on it,it will fall off.
Buddy called the salesman after they refused to do anything about the so called stone chips. Right side of truck was covered in them, bought in december and was all chipped in spring.

i had a dodge shadow like that.. the dealer said it was stone chips. i showed them a couple places that stones couldn't hit that was doing the same thing. i should have left the chips. they really screwed up the paint when fixing it.

They did repaint truck, after buddy suggested they move the dolled up camaro from the showroom, because the truck is coming in through the front window....

Great looking pickup.
Tailgate, I would need a step with all the steps from ground up!!!!!
That tailgate has a step incorporated into it! Its really neat. It also has a fold out to lengthen the bed for longer boards and folds into a work bench type area It's really cool. I wish someone would make that tailgate aftermarket for us old truck guys!
