Today when I removed the cracked parking light lens on my 65 Dart I noticed that the inside of the housing had some rust. I got some steel wool and cleaned it up. Now I am thinking of painting it with silver paint. If anyone has refurbished the parking light housing on their car what did you use? Thanks

Remove from car and bead blast entire housing. Used a chrome-like paint/galvanize on the inside. Lots of dielectric inside the socket to be sure that spring pressure is working on the contacts. Outside repaint with something close to original. If gasket is bad, rope caulking works.

I just cleaned my up and used a chrome paint form autozone, course my sockets were all rusted so I replaced them with a new billet aluminum one.

That billit socket looks nice never seen them

Thanks took a bit to find them, but they are from Ron Francis wiring, they make both single and dual filament sockets, price isn't to bad, alteast you don't have to worry ever about them rusting or corrosion.

Yeah almost went with those till I found these. Was going to get some for the rear housings but ended up buying a new set for them.
