What did you do for mounts? did you use a v8 k frame or conversion mounts? Also factory v8 a bodies had a special left exhaust manifold to clear the box. That may not be it.

Sorry I was thinking the parts I had and forgot to added them.

I am using the QA1 tube K frame with the factory -67-72 SB engine mounts.
I have a factory 76 manifold on that has the outlet towards the firewall. The issue is the middle of the manifold practically sits on the steering box. The outlet clears, but close fit. My concern is boiling my steering fluid at the box.
