Oh also title- it's restored salvage. it's already gone through the inspection process and at the best position it could be title wise for insurable and registration purposes.

not horrible but still not worth 10K. and the salvage title.

9k, he will deliver it to me in Las Vegas with the parts I wanted and he wasn't going any lower. I've definitely got some decisions to make about it. Part of me wants to just buy it and be happy having a clean running and driving with minimal restoration project and part of me thinks I should keep waiting. Problem is I see rust buckets needing tons and tons of work around me for 6k. This car if push came to shove I'd at least get my money back from it.

Balls in your court. I just traded my GTX that had only the title, no fender tag or build sheet. It wasn’t an issue for me for the last 25 years, until I put it up for sale/trade. Took almost 2 years to find the right deal where it didn’t matter to the trading party, as he was flipping it anyway, but I’m sure it prevented a lot of interested buyers from pursuing it further. Just something to think about when you find that Superbird and might want to sell the Dart! Welcome to FABO by the way, glad to have you with us!

The title shows it was totalled out by an insurance company, rebuilt/restored, shows it was brought up to specs, by whomever inspected it. Good looking car, but the salvage on the title will always be a downfall. If you are buying it to keep it, who cares? But if the market falls out, you may have a hard time selling. I don't buy to sell, so I buy what I want... Jmo...

How could you guarantee that you would get your money back? He hasn't sold it...

Touche'. I didn't mean it like that and my apoligies if it came across that way. I'm was just referencing the fact that cars in way worse shape are selling for the same amount, slightly more and some slightly less. There is never a guarantee I'd get my money back, but it's also a car I plan on keeping for a long time if and when I buy one.

This. I'm not so worried about the title after seeing the car, looking it over and taking it out for a drive. The body was straight (besides the one dent), the car drove straight, and felt straight.

I did just find another car listed in California, the interior isn't as clean, the body has a couple rust issues that would need fixed, but it's a true GT car (not #'s matching due to motor swap) with a 340 motor (originally was a 318?), front disk break conversion already installed, 8 3/4 rear end already installed.

It's a car I plan on keeping for a long long time. Maybe my son will want to take it off my hands one day.

I'm not a number chaser, but if you plan to keep it. It's all good. Is a good looking car, I am just trying to look out for you. And regardless, it is YOUR MONEY, not mine! Find a car, and enjoy it with the family.

1st - WELCOME! 2ND- Good looking family you have ! 3rd- Nice car ! Take it to a garage/shop so you can get it up on a hoist and take a good look underneath at the frame ect. (Reasons for the salvage title??) If you are hooked after driving it and can afford it...Go For It !!!

Thanks so much, I do appreciate it! I can't afford to be a # chaser

I have a couple days to make the decision. My wife gave me the thumbs up to buy one! Her exact statement "I don't want a money pit. So you can buy the car but you can't spend a bunch of money fixing it up and getting stuff for it that it doesn't need." She's really the greatest

That takes the California car our of the picture due to the rust.

Thanks man! Glad to be here. Some awesome feedback so far that's for sure. Definitely makes me think an extra time or two before pulling the trigger .

Found a nice 67 GT, a little farther away from me and only the slant 6, but it has a clean title. 9k

It’s a shame you are not closer to WV,
I have a co-worker with a nice 70 dart,
408 blueprint, TCI trans, factory 8.75 rear with just installed 4.10 gears, factory front disks.
It’s an original sheetmetal car, nothing replaced.
He did put fresh shiny paint on it a few years ago.
Could use some minor interior work, but the interior is presentable.
He wants $15,000 for the car, which is less than he has in it, it’s a real pretty car that runs strong.

I looked at all the classifieds on here and nothing close to me really. That I could swing at least. With being in school M-F 8-6 it's hard to find time to make any real trips to go pick up a car.

That 67 gt looks solid ! The nice thing about a six is that you know the car hasn't been BEAT it's entire life. The Six's are usually pretty dependable, and later on down the road, you can always upgrade the drivetrain. Just my 2cents.

That's what I'm thinking. I can't get out to grab it until next weekend and he has someone coming to look at it tomorrow, but he is going to keep me posted.

I hear you, I see a lot of vehicles out west I am interested in, but keep telling myself just to finish the ones i already have.

Guy just sent me the parts list of what he has done to it over the past year which seems pretty good. And sent me a picture of the clean title.

New alternator, New starter, New spark plugs, New spark plug wires, New fuel sending unit, New fuel filters, New tierods, New front disc slotted brakes, New front calipers and pads, New brake master cylinder, New tires New HID headlights, New carb, New door and window seals New trunk seal, New battery New battery cables New power steering gearbox, New steering wheel, Slant 6 engine

We are all keeping our fingers crossed for you Justin, sounds really nice!

Thanks man! If it gets sold tomorrow I'll probably get the 69 and call it a day, then enjoy the heck out of it with the kids. Maybe one day it'll be as nice as that white one you have in your picture!

I also contacted the president of the classic Mopar club here in Las Vegas to see if he knew of anything for sale or that may be for sale. Trying to make sure I cover all my bases before I make a brash decision.

Sounds like your going about this with the right attitude. The white dart is a '70 and it's my 17 year old sons. He bought it off my brother at a reasonable price. It was in very good shape, body is a 15 footer, interior is great shape but it wasn't running. We've been working on it for a year and a half and doing odds and ends. ALOT of good memories and skinned knuckles together! It's a driver and puts a smile on his face every time he's in it. My wife and daughter enjoy it as well! Keep us informed! A tremendous amount of great info and great guys on this site.

That's awesome! Would be super cool if my kids wanted the car when they got older. I found a 69 Gt Convertible in San Diego, thats a little more expensive but dang it's pretty. Also what woman doesn't like to take a Vert out for a date?!

This site is AMAZING! I'm having a hard time deciding even where to look. So much information everywhere, and trying to figure out which sub forums to go into when still short in the tooth on knowledge and for the fact that I am without a car:lol:...
