silencing a home AC unit?

years ago I had bought her an internet radio, dialed it in, to a station from her home country and she played that all the time
then, I guess the radio got old too, and started not connecting to the internet
she'd ask me to fix it, constantly

one day, it had just disappeared, I don't know if she threw it out, or gave it to one of her sons to fix or what, but replacing that might be do the trick

im not complaining but having both her mom and our own kids does make life interesting
just one example is our couch
we have a big sectional, big enough for 5 adults to sit comfortable, with 3 of them having their legs up

we've had this couch before we bought this house (and this house we bought because we decided to move her mom in with us, which wouldn't work in the old house)

so, we moved into the new house, and placed our old couch in the new living room
we all had our "own" spot, but now we have one extra person living with us (and even though she has her own living room, she spends all of the family time with us...which was kinda the point of moving her in)
well, she picked her spot, and it turned out she picked the spot that used to belong to my oldest, now 9 year old son

weve been in this house for over 2 years now, and that still causes problems because both of em think they have a claim to this spot

but how do you explain to a child that his grandma forgets things?
I hear ya man. I deal with the same thing with my grandma and my two toddlers. Though it’s weird, when my 3 year old is around, my grandma is the happiest I ever see her these days. They actually talk to each other, (she lost the ability to form full words and sentences years ago) but when he’s around, she actually talks. It’s odd and scary but it’s just something to deal with
