Was only 7 but remember watching on the console TV in J’Ville Fl. We watched the launch for it from the front yard.

Had no idea what a 69 Barracuda was though. Good year for lots of things!

I was JUST telling Kitty I was only 4 but I remember watching it live and knowing that it "was something important". lol

I watched the Apollo 11 launch live on the family 13” Black and White TV. Then we all rushed out into the back yard and stared at the full moon...and wondered.

I have NO clue what you old geezers are talking about

I was 15 at the time. Remember watching it in b&w on tv.

July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human to step on the moon. He and Aldrin walked around for three hours.

We had a nice console color TV, but the landing was all broadcast in B&W.

I was 14 at the time. I remember watching channel 13. I asked my dad if we could see them on the moon if we went outside.

My whole family was glued to the TV! We all saw it launch and It was so exciting at the time.

Aldrin is the true American Badass, and still sets his own rules. Can you spot him in this recent photo? He's the one wearing three watches.

2nd from the right is Collins and just as important as the Neil and Buzz.

I remember watching it, my uncle said it was fake and didn't believe man ever walked on the moon till the day he died! We tried to convince him but he just always said it was fake TV stuff.

Sad!

We watched all the Apollo fights leave from our front yard in j’Ville. The 11 was the coolest in the end. 13 was a real bummer.

Saw challenger leave in January 86 if my memory serves and could see it explode from work in J’Ville after moving back from Ga. that sucked!

I remember standing outside the firehouse and watched in horror as the Challenger blew up in 1986.

I was only 5 days old when they landed.
Mom says she held me while she watched it on TV.
I'll have to take her word for it.

There is a new Red Bull commercial on the TV satirizing that theory and the landing too for that matter

Space X delayed their most recent Falcon launch from VAFB. I missed it. Boosters returned as planned, main engine missed it's landing barge at sea.

I was 19. I watched it at my girlfriend's (now wife of 48 years) house. I have a friend named Gary. We've been friends for 50 years. He also does not believe we landed on the moon. He also FIRMLY believes that the U.S. government lead by President Bush blew up the world trade centers, and that the planes crashing into it were photo shopped. He also believes that when he sees a jet leaving a white contrail in the sky the contrail is actually mind control drugs being dumped into the air by the government. He also totally believes in Natural Medicine to the point where he refuses to go to a regular AMA certified doctor. He says all they want to do is cut, burn and poison. He is currently dying from stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to his liver. He tried all kinds of quack, witch doctor stuff that his naturalists have suggested. Don't get me wrong, there are some good things you can get from natural medicine, like certain food that have certain vitamins and minerals. I won't go into all of the CRAZY assed things he has tried, but they include drinking 'magic' ionized water, giving yourself shots of mistletoe juice and going to a quack in Texas who promises to realign the electrical field in your body so it can heal itself. It is sad to watch him die. Colon cancer when caught early (and his was), has a 90+% cure rate with surgery and chemo.

I was 1...and 2 days. I don't remember **** except the one in my diaper. Remembered the Shuttle accident, they showed it live at grade school and everyone just went dead quiet for about a minute. Teacher shut the TV off and told us we'd rememeber this day forever. Yup.

I remember being 8 years old at high school in science class watching on the black and white TV (Based in Australia) so was daytime for us, could not believe that we as people had finally managed to get to another stellar body

I was 9 and got sent home from school as I arrived that day (daytime in Australia) to watch it on our TV. We were so excited (like everyone), saddens me to hear those who think it was staged, can’t think of a more magnificent technological achievement!

I was 17 or 18 at the time. I guess there's no color on the moon, just grays and blacks because it looked gray on the TV???
